These people claim to be a company called URG. when you google the number it comes up as the elpaso child support division. They refuse to give me a fax or a phone number and refuse to tell me what URG stands for. This is the the number for united recovery group but when you ask the person who answers... they will tell you that it is. i sent them a cease and desist letter and they responded to me saying that they do not have my case number on file and that they receive a lot of calls from people who are looking for URG. They are a bill collector and have threatened to take me to court but yet they refuse to accept my payment arrangement as they are requesting for a "LARGER" settlement. They have also contacted my family members and threatened to put a lien on my mortgage and freeze my bank accounts. i want them to stop harrassing me but they refuse to give me contact information and i cant find anything online!

So these people continue to call my father leaving threatening messages that they will be serving me with a judgement if i don't call them back. (mind you- they already have my contact information at this point but they still bother my dad). i called them back and asked them again what URG stands for and again they refused to tell me. They also refused to give me a fax number and an address. When i told them (or him) my so called case manager- that i faxed in a cease and desist letter he responded by saying " you didn't fax us anything" i then informed him that i called yesterday to ask if the name of this company was united recovery group and was informed that it was and so i sent a fax and an email based on the information in found online. He then became very angry and stated "Oh so you are that stupid ignorant person who filed a complaint against us online!!!! are you confirming that? WELL! now we are going to sue you for fraud" ....

somewhere in the conversation while he was yelling his head off - i told him that i was unable to locate any information on their company and he said "of course not... we don't advertise that. i don't know any other collection agency that does" .... but they claim to be united recovery group who does in fact have a website. Hey! Mr. Goldstein - since you read up on these posts. answer my calls and quit sending me to voicemail! i need your fax number and the mailing address to your company!

These people are trying to collect a debt that doesnt exist...They have been stating that they are going to serve me papers @ my place of employment, here it is months later & i havent received a dern thang! I was told a guy named Mr Neil Goldman was the person handling my case, but everytime I call he has changed his name but yet its the same voice. I have called as well before to obtain the ACTUAL company name, the workers there just say that they cannot release the information nor can they provide a fax# only people of management can!...Please I know this is just some run down sweat shop w/a bunch of teenagers thinking they are really working for a legit business. I'm sure they have computers all lined up on one big long brown table. URG is finna be U R Gone once we get to the bottom of this & my attorney already has a handle on this case....I suggest you people close down shop cause you will all be online filing for UNEMPLOYMENT, if you need help doing that give ME a call & I can assist you guys, then we can consider this so called DEBT AS PAID OFF....Holla!

Thank you Rin Cruz for the feedback, I had been getting calls from this number and did not know what to do. You have the right to be treated fairly, with respect and with dignity by a debt collector.After some thorough research, rest assured, Texas does not allow Texas companies to garnish wages. Texas also doesn't allow a creditor with a judgment lien on your homestead to force the sale of it either. So next time "Mr.Goldstein" calls you give him the business.

Harassment and Fraud are Prohibited
State law prohibits the use of harassment and abusive collection tactics. It is illegal for any debt collector to:

threaten violence or other criminal acts;
use profane or obscene language;
falsely accuse the consumer of fraud or other crimes;

make collect telephone calls without disclosing the true name of the caller before the charges are accepted.
The use of fraudulent or deceptive practices is also prohibited, including:

using a false name or identification;
misrepresenting the amount of the debt or its judicial status;
sending documents to a debtor that falsely appear to be from a court or other official agency;
failing to identify who holds the debt;
misrepresenting the nature of the services rendered by the collection agency or the collector;
falsely representing that the collector has information or something of value in order to discover information about the consumer.

Well well well lookie what we have here, looks like someone else done been hassled by Mr Goldman/Goldstein/OJ Simpson or whatever name he maybe @ the time that you call. These people are crazy, talkin about a debt i owe, well I guess u betta stand in line w/all the other debt collectors that are STILL waiting to get paid...U know what I ant payin U R to tha Mfffff G nothing cause you people dont even exist. If u cant give me no real company name then I cant give u no REAL money! You people are going to be sweating bullets when yal get served w/court papers for your fraudulent behavior & your illegal tactics. Im almost sure this company is so not real that yal are probably using a DOS computer system & the company is some kind of trailer w/a bunch of people just working for peanuts. My mom got a call from a process server (female) wanting to know when I would be home. When my mother told her the time that i would be there (4-4:30) the so caleed process server said that they serve between 8am to 5pm. Then why do uou need to know when I will be there, also process servers do not call you to let you know they are comming. She gave my mom a number and case number to find out what this was about. Then you know the rest of the story. Well, I say that everyone they have called to hassle, needs to call them several times a day just to harrase them back. Maybe your phone call will be the one that keeps them from ripping someone off. If the are getting calls from us they are not ripping unsuspecting innocent people off.

For those of u they keep calling, I just called and gave my client number they no longer have my account. If you want them to leave u alone just call and harrasse them. But please don't let them keep getting away with this, If u can afford it get a pi to investigate them and find out who they r so they can b stopped. Report them to anyone u can

called today from mr. goldman first from someone going to deliver me with some life changing paperwork. they wouldn't give me no info but they give me the number 888-687-6141. so i call to see what is transpiring after someone answers they send me to mr.goldman would give no first name. but it was about a creit card from 2003 that had been setteled in 2007 or 2008. he is very knolgable about somethings but not everything. i agreed to pay now and settle and decided to put the phone number in google i could quickley see i was not the lone ranger. so after i gave him my card info i call the bank to cancle the card. so about a hour later another call on the cell comes up restricted i don't answer 2 min later 646-350-6016 comes on cell i answer it's mr goldman now i'm on google when he calls so i google this number while he is not happy that i not going to pay my bill telling me he's going to take my cars that im paying 900.00 a month on and dock my pay from my pay check. so finlly the number comes back to manhantion n.y. a cell phone i confront him about this now he is very mad he tells me the people on hear are no good people that won't pay there bills. he wanted to know where i would be tomorrow between 10:00 and somthing i'm raising hell by now i tell him that there is plenty of time left today but he insiste on tomorrow. so he's send the messanger to meet me at the court house but i don't know witch one HE HUNG THE HELL UP ON ME.

I recieved a very threatening phone call from someone at this number stating I was being sued.  I called the number back and was transferred to someone who would not tell me their name, who they were, or what they wanted until I finally screamed at them in frustration and flat out FEAR because of the threats they were stating over the phone.  I said "I need to know who you are and if I need to contact my lawyer." the man then scoffed, laughed and said "what lawyer?  You dont have a lawyer! Dont tell me you have a lawyer you liar!"  So at this point I'm shaking and saying "who the **** is this?!?!  Who is calling me?!"  His response was This is URG and you owe me money.  I said, who says I owe You money?  Who the hell are you?!  He said it doesn't matter, You owe me money and dont tell me you have a lawyer.  You are going to pay me the money you owe! I have everything that has anything to do with your social security number and I am demanding you pay me the money you owe me!  And I said What Money?!  Who are you?   At this point he said URG bought the debt owed to Clout visa.  Your first credit card (from 10 years ago and after this claim was on my bankruptcy from 3 years ago) and You WILL pay it and I am serving you papers right now!"  I hung up now that I knew who they were and have called my lawyer.  I am shaking and seriously afraid of this company.  I am physically afraid for my physical self from the man I spoke to on the other end of the line and am thinking I should call the police.

I got a call on my cell phone this morning from a man at URG ~ wouldn't tell me his name or who he represented and couldn't give me any more information because it was my husband that he needed to talk to and being a third party I needed to make sure that my husband contacted him immediately at 888-556-3926 and gave me a case#  because they were coming out to serve us papers in the morning ~ so I quickly ran home (my husband was off from work) and had him call that number ~ this man answered and provoked my husband to raise his voice because he wanted to know who was suing us and why ~ then my husband said " the @#$ "hung up on me ~ I immediately called back and asked what the heck was going on ~ I also asked if he was the man I had talked to earlier ~ he said no, but I recognized his voice ~ the said we were being sued for a Providian Card that had been left off our bankruptcy ~ I knew for a fact that it hadn't because they were one of the main ones that were crooked ~ the man continued to tell me that he would take our wages, etc... and I told him to give me the last 4 numbers of the card and I would look it up and call him back~ fortunately I found the bankrupcty packet and sure enough Providian was on their and the same numbers to boot ~ I haven't called him back yet ~ but I just happened to look up USG and found this site ~ I wonder how many other folks they have extorted money from ~ I am now looking for the correct wording to tell him when I call him back ~ perhaps I could ask for his address so I can mail him a copy of the paper that has a story about him and his scam ( since I work for the local paper ) Any ideas  ????

They called my fathers house and since i called back and asked to get their address because i was going to sue them for harassment they started to flip and say i couldnt do that. Well Here is the address they gave me

I am furious! Thank you but I received a phone call from my sister whom told me that this company who was looking for me because it was urgent. They left her a case number and a number to call, I called this number and they transferred me to Mr. Neil Goldstien. He threatened to freeze my bank account and I informed him that my social security money was untouchable. Then he told me that if I could not pay this today, that I best make a post dated check for Monday or his company was going to sue me. I then told him that there was no way I could do that being I knew that I would not have that money by Monday and he said "Never mind I'll just serve you papers tomorrow!" and he hung up on me. I called back to get the name and the address to the company and the man who I was transferred to again Mr. Goldstien he said "You are an annoying lady!" and processed to hang up. I know I do not owe these people money...

Tried to call them and someone got on the phone and told me I was going to be served a summons. I asked them not to call my job anymore. I informed them that my supervisor had told me that it is illegal to call my place of employment if I notified them verbally not to contact me at work.

My mother got a voicemail from this place today and they said i had two hours to call them back and if i didn't i would be going to jail. I called them back to see who they were and the lady very quickly said the name and i said who is this again because i didny understand what she said she put me on hold for an hour. Im so sick of this place. What can i do yo get them to stop.

Thanks for the information. I received a call from 855-843-1370 from a person named Jason Stanley. He said that he was trying to contact me in order for me to avoid being served papers. He gave me the above number. I called and spoke to a woman and she said that I was going to be served papers by my local sheriff's department and in order to avoid that I needed to contact her by noon. When I told her that I was at work, she told me that I won't have a job if I didn't call her. I called her back and she said that she was able to stop the Sheriff's office from serving me papers at my job and I could have them meet me somewhere or serve me at home, but they were unable to do it after 6pm. When I asked what URG stood for, she said that it didn't stand for anything. I asked for their address and she gave me a P.O. Box number in Macon Georgia.
