Call came through at 2:13 pm on May 3, as "Toll Free" to my answering machine.  No message left.

I answered the call.  It was Xcel Energy trying to get me to use their smart electric meter.

thanks.  I'll have to think about whether to answer this one.  They just called again at 10:31 on May 4, and I didn't answer again.  They left no message.  Obviously, since I'm a customer, this call wouldn't be covered by the No Call List.  But wouldn't you think they would want to be identifiable by caller ID -- or to leave a message -- so that people would be able to decide whether to take the call?

Multiple calls through day also - silent when I answer; no message.

I called the number back (it is Xcel), and a recorded message explained how to remove my phone number from the calling campaign. The recording will walk you thought it -- easy!

TYVM-I was getting the calls on my cell phone, (6 calls in the last 7 days) how annoying. Anyway, I called the number (XCEL ENERGY) and had my cell phone number placed on "the do not call list". I'm not sure if they have their own do not call list, or if they refer to the national registry. If they would have just identified themselves I would have answered!. I have to wonder how successful their campaign is.

Called me 5 times in the last three days. I never pick up, and they never leave a message.

It is DTE Energy (Detroit Edison). If you call the number you will get an automated system in which you can be placed on the do not call list...very simple!

I agree can't understand why it just says toll-free I never answer toll-free calls.

They called 3 times today.  My Caller ID said:  OUT OF AREA 1-888-689-9303.  I never answer calls from names or numbers that I do not immediately recognize.  Will put this number in my Call Block.
