Keep getting a cal lfrom this #. No idea what it is.

Private number said he was "Jim", With SVSI, when asked what company he would only respond "personal business" as I was acting like an associate for myself.  He than said we'll leave it at that and hung up.

Number came through with 999-999-9999 for the caller ID, some girl left a very garbled message with the number 888-696-9443 as the callback number.
No idea who it is, did not call them back.

Second the Garbled message comment - from SCSI ? (svsi?) - I imagine it's a collection agency.  Number did not show up on caller ID

The guy's name was Mark and gave the number 1-888-696-9443 and told my wife to call back she did and a recording came on and said YOUR CALL IS VERY IMPORTANT JUST WAIT ON THE LINE AND THE NEXT AVELABLE REPRSENITIVE WILL BE ION THE LINE SHORTLY .

Mark called again. Wouldn't say what it was about, just kept up with the "personal business" routine.
Asked him to add this number to his "do not call" list and hung up.

My daughter (21) received a call at our house this morning.  The woman said it was important personal business and to have my daughter call her back at the 18886969443 number.  She would not identify the company she was calling from or say anything regarding what the call was about.  She said it had to do with my daughter's right to privacy.  My daughter has no credit cards or debts, so it is highly unlikely to be a collection call.  My concern about my daughter calling back is whether there is any potential for phone charges.  I've heard about some kind of bait and switch operations where the party calls back on a toll free line and then the call is switched somehow to a very high cost number instead.

They are indeed from State Collection Service.

Some guy said his name was Mark from CSCI. Didn't say what the call was in regards to, just to call him at 888-696-9443. I figure if it's important enough he'll give me more info on the message he leaves if he calls again. I'm not going to call him, that's for sure.

I have had this number call 2 times in the past week. Person leaves this message identifying himself as Mark from SCSI. I called back the first time and heard the same automated message telling me to hang on the line for the next available rep. My call is very important to them. After 6 minutes, I hung up. Is this truely a collection agency? I dont want to get scammed....

Posted earlier today...I called the number again and a rep. picked up right away! I asked who they were and why they kept calling me. She said by your voice I take it you are not (the name of my ex-boyfriend) I said no and gave the rep his number. THEY ARE A COLLECTION AGENCY!!!!!!!!

Calling and leaving a number to call - when I called it they wanted all my info and I would not give it to them until they gave me information and all she would say is that it was Capitol Credit. Now who is that? I don't know she would not give me anymore information until I gave her my name and number and as I am writing they are calling back. UGH!

This guy Mark keeps calling me and leavin messages and when i called them back,they would not give any information on who they are. He has left over 10 messages on my phone, and will not provide any info when i ask them questions, this is somehow a scam of some sort!! Do not all this number back!!

This number just called my cell phone but left no message. I checked this board (here) and found it was a collection agency. (Thank you!) Called the collection agency and through interviewing the agency, I eventually found that AmerenIP had made an error when typing in my new address, and AmerenIP was therefore was not getting any response from me about my last bill for my old house. The collection agency was pretty pleasant to deal with actually.

Just keep telling them they have the wrong number. They keep calling me for someone, and I'm filing with my state's consumer protection agency and the fcc because I have asked them to refrain from calling on several occasions. The first few times they called, I waited on the line for a rep, put my phone on speakerphone, and went back to work. 2 hours later, my phone beeps because the battery is dying... they never answered, and I was still on hold! So much for the call being very important!

lady said that she was calling from beloit on personal business when asked what company would not say.wanted me to confirm address & phone number declined.

I keep receiving this call from a MARK.  I am getting very tired of him using my minutes. He says I am to call him.  I never answer when I see this number on my caller ID.

Called back - had very selective and choice (NC17) words with person - who stated they would remove my number - then xfer to supv - to also verify incorrect number and stated they would remove. Supv stated that she was with SCSI - and inbound/oubound call center - and they made an error w/ the number but were not aware they were in violation of Federal Communication laws about automated dialers and recordings left (i.e. no company name left) - left her with very carefully chosen words and that due to her company's failure to comply with laws I found no reason to be courteous or respectful (i.e. NC17 language) that I chose to express my opinion about their calls and processes. She would not identify what company she was handling calls for... but removed my number.

To clear this up once and for all, this company is called "State Collection Service Inc." or "S.C.S.I."  According to their letterhead, they are located at 2509 S. Stoughton Rd.  Madison, WI 53716.  Their regular telephone number is 608-661-3062 and their toll free number is 888-696-9443.  Their hours are M-Th 7a to 9p, Fri 7a to 5p and Sat 8a to 12p.  I too have been getting these irritating calls and finally reported them to the Do Not Call Registry after getting into it with the rep on the phone.  Since they were not allowed to call me anymore, they finally went through proper channels and mailed me a letter.  Job transfers have caused me to move a lot over the last couple of years and there was an AMEREN IP bill that slipped through the cracks - as "Gayle Feb 26, 2009" also stated.  My bill dated back to December 2006.  After extensive research I found out they were right.  It's just ridiculous that it took 2 1/2 years to send a notice in the mail.  I've always left a forwarding address so it's not like I've been hiding.....???!!!
