- SloanPohlSupposedly bank of Americas fraud department but when I called back they never said "thank you for calling bank of Americas fraud detection this is so and so" instead the guy asked for my credit card number without even providing his name. I would call the number and the back of your card for customerservice rather than giving this number any bank, card, or personal information.
- Dan| 2 repliesThis is Bank of America's fraud detection number for VIP clients for credit & debit cards (Merrill Lynch & US Trust)
- Caller: Bank of America
- Good Sam replies to DanCorrect. However, you wish to be certain for yourself. So, call the customer service number on back of your card and ask to be connected the Fraud Department. The Customer Reps. will connect you and there will be no doubt as to with whom you are speaking.
- MNI got a call from this number and did not answer, however I do not now nor have I ever had any association with BoA.
- Anonymous replies to DanThat number is a phishing number and is NOT Bank of America Fraud or Merrill Lynch. Don't give any information
- BofACustJust got a call from this number... took the advice of one of the posters and called my BofA number on the back of my CC... as it turns out, the call was valid and it was from the fraud dept. They were following up to let me know they declined a charge to Best Buy for nearly $1k. The rest of the story: I was in fact trying to buy a projector from Best Buy when the CC was declined, I ended up paying cash and never gave the card being declined any thought... lol...
- Caller: Bank of America
- DRPendNumber is legit. BOA Direct fraud line. I gave no info and they gave me too much to be a Phishing number. Numbers can be spoofed though, so always good to be careful.
- Caller: BOA Fraud Department
- DavidThis number called me claiming to be Bank of America. I was skeptical, so I called Bank of America's main line and got redirected to the Fraud Department. The call turned out to be real, due to some suspect activity on my Credit Card.
- Caller: Bank of America
- it a phish number| 2 repliesReceived the call to my cell and office number. I called Bank of America (from the numbers provided on BoA's official website). They said it was a phishing call and that had it been a call from Bank of America they would have had me call the number from the back of my card instead.
- s replies to it a phish numberNo - its the real bank of america - I checked.

- RandallI work in the claims department for wealth management which is 18006377455 or 1(800)merrill. The 8887262644 is a valid phone number for our department called wealth fraud and authorizations. They monitor credit cards and debit cards for fraudulent activity. They are also the department in charge of placing restrictions on debit cards. You could just call the 1(800)merrill number and they will connect you to the claims team.
***You can call the 18004321000 bank of america customer service number too, but they would need to transfer you to wealth management. - kj replies to it a phish numberThis is actually the BOA direct line to fraud dept representatives. When they called me because of an issue they did not ask me for any personal or banking information, but called simply to inform me that someone might have been using our card for a suspicious charge and they had declined it. It was, in fact, us trying to use the card, so they unblocked the card and our charge went through. Don't think scammers would have that control over our account.
- Manuel in Boston| 2 repliesThis was legitimately Bank of America's fraud department. I had a phone transaction declined last night, and they were following up. If you bank with them, this is a handy number to note, since they answer 24 hours and can clear things up if you have something declined. As to calls from this number to you, yes, any number can be spoofed; but this was legit.
- Caller: Bank of America (Fraud Prevention)
- Rob replies to Manuel in Boston| 1 replySo lets get this straight. Last night you received a call from this number which notified you of fraud on your account. So, today you decide to put the number into a website for reportinng unknown, unwanted and scam calls. Why would you do that? You did not mind the call, you believed it was legitimate and you did not believe it was a scam so it does not cover the criteria for this site. What did you expect to find?
- LindaThis IS Bank of America's Fraud Dept. Legit.
- Caller: Bank of America
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- Linda replies to RobHe probably did it for the same reason l did. After u get a call like that u want to verify it's real. Then u Google the number and see people are saying its a scam number...so u want to inform people who might be wary of that number that its's a legitimate one. Sad world that there are so many scammers in this world.
