    Pay your bills

It is completely legal and normal business practice to contact relatives or references of debtors. People who do not pay their bills often have their phone number changed because they do not want to answer debt collection phone calls or they do not pay their phone bills. They also tend to have bad credit and a bad attitude about paying their bills. The message is simple...DON"T BE A DIRTBAG, exercise some personal responsibility, and you will not get collections calls. SIMPLE

You are absolutely WRONG! I have excellent credit and I have been accused of owing heaven knows what. I am also a victim of identity theft. It took me a long time to prove my innocence but I did it and now this crap. I hope this [***] happens to you so you know how mentally draining it gets. I have better things to do than to deal with these morons. You're the DIRTBAG!

Hey, brilliance, I get calls from debt collectors for OTHER people...they refuse to acknowledge their misinformation.  They insist so and so lives here, and answering those calls only strengthens their ignorance.  Thus, I refuse to answer calls from toll free numbers.

You may have taken out a loan and never paid it back. If you did not or do not remember you should speak with them specially since they do have your social security number on file. This company is the last resort before its actually sent to court. Settle outside of court , it will be cheaper.

    Not Me
Left a cryptic message on my answering machine and didn't identify themselves.

I don't have any debt, junk or otherwise, but I have a very common name which often gets selected from the phone book.

Move on, scumbag; it's not me.

Your are dead WRONG and a first rate moron.  It's illegal to harrass relatives and friends just because you can't reach the person you claim owns the debt.  I doubt your company even owns the debt, otherwise you would be sending information throught the mail.  Maybe you and your other criminals that work for this company should study up on the collection laws.

Also no legit debt collector would bother posting on sites like this one.  It shows that your company is a fraud and nothing more than a bottomfeeder collection agency trying to scare people out of their money.  Hopefully one day you or someone in your family will get terminal cancer.

Textbook debtor speak. I don't wanna pay my bills so I'm gonna question your business practices/ call your company criminals/ claim harassment /make threats/  sound high and might in general. Check out the ten Commandments. Particularly # 8 and #9. It's real simple. If you borrow money try to pay it back instead of looking for excuses. And as far as terminal cancer...hopefully you won't add any more of your kind to the gene pool.

You are completely wrong about it being legal to contact relatives or references. I have filed against these type of calls to my state attorney general office and have been told by them that these type of messages and calls are SCAMS and not to pay them anything. In fact they have tracked down these numbers (or tried when the actual numbers are legit) and contacted me back to tell me that they are not legitimate collectors and that they so called debt they are trying to contact me for is also not legitimate or mine!!! So follow thru and check to see what your states attorney generals contact information is and file a complaint and they will follow up on it and let you know the results of their investigation!!

The attorney general does not give you legal advice or advice of any kind for that matter. They do conduct investigations, but it is highly unlikely that they advised you of anything. There is no scam.

These people buy up huge lots of noncollectable debt. They then proceed to telephone any number that last name matches the last name on the debt. They go as far as to call Government entities and leave messages that they are looking for (persons name) that they are debt collectors trying to collect a debt from (persons name). They did this to me and when they were told by the Government entity that person is unknown by them and they do not except collection calls of any form they continued to call them. A family member works at this Government entity and was called into the office about these calls. The family member contacted me and gave me the number to call back. These people at no time ever send anything in the mail they just start robo dialing. When you call these people back they denies that they called anyone but you.
When you ask them for information concerning the debt they become defensive and claim they do not have access to original creditors address and will only give you the last four digits of the original creditors account number. When asked for their mailing address they want to know why you want it? They claim to work with attorney's in all states to sue for collection of the outstanding debt if you do not pay them immediately. Do not pay them, file a complaint with FTC and check your state laws. I live in a state that requires them to be lic. in this state in order to collect a debt unless they are the original creditor. Make sure that you send them a certified letter for validation of the debt and that the only way they can contact you is through the mail.
Make sure you know your rights before contacting them and never admit to owing anything. Ask them for their name (first, last and employee number), their address, original creditors complete name, address, phone number and complete account number. Ask them for their account number concerning this matter and let them know that they will be receiving a certified letter from you concerning this matter . Tell them that you are giving them verbal request that they are not to contact you again by phone and it will also be in writing when they receive the certified letter. I like to also inform them that I have recorded the call also before telling them thank you and have a nice day.
I have filed complaint against them with the Florida BBB, Florida Secretary of State and the FTC.

I just recieved a call from these people it came in on a 979-209-5400 number, a Kathy Graham left a message saying it was a pending civil case regarding my vehicle and left a case number. I called the 979 number back instead of the 888 number left in vm. The 979 number belonged to a Municiple Court in Texas I told the woman why I was calling and she asked me my name and phone nu mber and said there was no information linked to me or my vehicle. I called the 888 number spoke with Kathy Graham and she informed me of a debt to a payday loan company but couldnt give me the name of the company did give me a date the loan was supposidly taken out but when I asked for her to send me a copy of the paperwork she said she couldnt it takes a 120 days to get that and that it goes to court tomorrow, so if I paid her 400 today I could avoid court. First off why would I pay anyone 400 without proof the debt is mine, it is 5 yrs old. I dont recall a payday loan 5 yrs ago but I am willing to look at the paperwork and all the information and if its mine pay it, not everyone skips out on debt, but I do refuse to pay something without proof. Especially when all she had was the last 4 digits of my social, nothing else matched not even the last name at the time of the supposed loan, I hadnt had that last name for 4 yrs sand hadnt had my maiden name in over 20yr.I told Kathy I guess I will see them in court so I can see the paperwork, she was not happy and said I have her number.

This will be the 5th company calling me about some loan through quickest-cash-advance.com. Which in turn do not supply loans and find loan companies for you.  So if they do not supply the money why are they collecting?!! I started paying the first company after they threatened to have some random guy show up at my door with some paperwork (court?),not thinking correctly, who contacted me but after getting other calls from the same thing, I realized it is just a scam and wish I met the guy.

Some company is sharing old information about me that was probably hacked. None of these companies "collection or law agencies" could produce the original loan paperwork proving they own the debt and I do not remember ever having such a loan. This type of scam is happening all over the country by these scum bags who have nothing else to do but make crap calls all day and get us pissed off!

You think some agency just pulled your information out of nowhere. COME ON. There's no scam. It's a collection attempt. The only scam is your attempt to post online rather than acknowledge your debt and handle it accordingly.
