- Dee R| 2 repliesI keep getting calls daily stating they have a very important message for an individual that does not live here. When I call back, some one who speaks very broken english answers and I cannot understand them. Very irritating. So many Americans out of work that can speak the language. They would not give me the name of the company they represent.
- Not Halterman!| 1 replyThe same thing was happening to me. I was going to ignore the messages on my answering machine, but then I thought that perhaps it really was important. (My first mistake). I called the number and also got someone with very broken English, and I couldn't understand the name of the company she gave. I had to repeat my phone number...very slowly...4 times. She asked if I was someone named Halterman, and I told her no. She then wanted the last 4 digits of my SSN to confirm. When I told her no to that as well, she became very belligerent and argumentative. I told her, "I don't even know who you ARE. Why would I give you my personal information? Take my number off your records!" and I hung up. Something tells me this isn't the last I'll hear from them.

- solI don't answer my phone if I don't recognize the number on the caller ID. mESSAGE LEFT ON ANSWERING MACHINE SAYS TO CALL 888-754-0373 AND IS CLEARLY A RECORDED MESSAGE. If it continues, I will turn it in to my local sheriff dept. which aggressively follows up on things that appear to be scams with the FBI.

- John RMy wife got a call from this # on Wed; it was a woman asking for our daughter's phone # for some business matters. I got a call on Thurs from the same #; this time a man. Each had a foreign accent and were hard to decipher their comments. I don't know how they got my phone for my daughter has not lived with us for over 10 yrs. It may be a phishing scam or it may be a debt collection agency but if they keep calling I will ask my lawyer what action I can take to stop them.
- AnnoyedA company who identifies itself as NARS (National Asset Recovery Service) has been repeatedly calling me at work, being rude to my staff and just generally being harassing. They keep asking me to confirm my identity, middle initial, social security number, etc... I refused. They say that it is for a $1900 debt I owe to Cross Country Bank and they want to "help" clear it up with a payment plan. I've never had a card there and checked my credit report to be sure that there wasn't anything lingering. They say they are located in Missouri, but the two people who have called had thick accents. One sounded Jamaican. I think that it's a phishing scam. I'm thinking of calling some authority on this. They are getting increasingly nasty on the phone.

- AnnOnimousThere is a way to get some revenge. Use pay phones! Do not use your land line or cell phone. Call them back at their own number: 1-888-754-0373. You'll get a recording. Each time you call, you get your 50 cents back. GUESS WHO GETS CHARGED FOR THE CALL??? You can use the same phone to make multiple calls. As soon as it connects, you get your money back (some phones return your money when you hang up). Put the 50 cents back in and dial the number again, as many times and as often as you like. Imagine if EVERYONE who is being harrassed by these idiots started doing this 10, 15, 20 times a day. There's power in numbers!

- LaShawnThese peolple call relentlessly 2-3 times a day. They call asking for people not at my number. When I ask to speak to their supervisor, they wanna know my name and try to get as much info about the person they are calling for. I constantly tell them this is not the persons number. I told them to stop calling or I will report them to the authorites. This lasted only 2 days. Calls have return. What can I do to stop them!!

- HadenuffThis has got to stop! This jerks keep calling my number asking for Johannie (recorded message). They told you to punch certain numbers and if they have the wrong number to press #3, but you still get the same recorded message telling you to wait for the next available agent. I tried not answering my phone but they leave an annoying message . I live in Massachusetts and I wonder how many others get the same call from these NARS people. Can something be done about these idiots?

- S A SmithThe company that originates calls from this number identifies itself as NARS. According to information on the Internet, NARS could be a debt collection agency. It has called me one or more times a day for several weeks regarding an Allied credit card. I have never had such a card, and I have told that to the caller repeatedly. The last time I asked the caller from what country they were calling because they were having a hard time pronouncing my last name, and the caller told me Missouri. I have asked them on multiple occasions to stop calling me and to make any future contact in writing, by mail. It hasn't happened. I don't know how to stop these calls. Can anyone help?

- Sage PetersHere's what I do!
When these kind of people call, I just curse them out in the most abusive language humanly imaginable and I don't stop. I mean really mean nasty ugly - non stop. My Marine DI would be proud. Trust me, they hang up. Just do it every time they call. They will usually quit ....at least for a while.- Caller: 888-754-0373
- T.CReceived a call from this number today. When I answered a recorded message says to please hold, I hung up and immediately placed the number on my blocked call list. Once I block the number the call does not come through, it gives the caller a message saying "This caller will not accept calls from this number". Most collection agency's are using auto-dialer so it will take them months to figure it out if ever before they call from a different number but then I will just block that number. The call block feature comes with my phone service, maybe those of you that are tired of the calls should try it. I know it has given me some piece and quite.
