Calls constantly, leaves no message.

From Merrick Bank fraud department. Merrick's terms and conditions specify that the bank will decline overseas transactions to reduce their risk pending a conversation with the cardholder to verify a legitimate purchase.

This is a call you want to take if you are a Merrick Bank card holder.

I received this call today, but didn't answer because I had a low signal.  After doing a quick google seach seeing mulitple posts that it was from Merrick Bank, I called the number on the back of my card just to make sure.  They immediately transferred me to the fraud department and I was told they were trying to reach me because someone tried to make 2 fraudalent charges on my card that morning, which they had declined.  They closed out that card immediately and a new one is already on its way.  

Grateful Al is right, if you receive this call and don't answer, make sure that you call back either on that number or the one on the back of your credit card.

This is a legit call from Merrick Bank fraud dept. Called their normal customer service number to confirm. Someone tried to use my card number internationally.

I tried to use my merrick Visa card to purchase from a site based in Turkey and it was rejected and I got the call. They will block any overseas transactions until they verify it with you. Is it a pain? Yes, is it a good safety measure? Yes and worth the bother

You have no idea what you are talking about. Try using your merrick card for an overseas purchase and you will get this call verifying that you are really the one making that purchase. It isn't a fraud a scam or any of which you stated, call merrick and get your facts straight before publishing false statements

It is a fraud- I have no Merrick Bank account and they called my cell phone as well as a linked Google voice number. I've had this same number for years. Don't give them any personal information.

It was Merrick bank, my card had 2 fraud charges on it. Glad I answered.

This was an automated call to my mother. They were asking to check a transaction on her credit card. She carries no credit card for this or any other bank. They were asking for card information. It's fraud for elderly people!

i had made too many attempts to access my Merrick card mobile app when I forgot password due to lack of use. They called to check on it. You definitely want to answer this one.

Did not answer.  They left no message.  I didn't recognize the number so I typed it into my Norton safe search box.  It came up as a scammer.  Other posts tried to validate it, but we called the number on the back of the card and the fraud department questioned us about 3 recent charges we DID NOT make.  Yes do call the number on the back of your card and ask why they called you.  You'll be transferred to security who will flag the number, cancel the card and issue you a new one..

I answered and it was a dead stick.......

Not fraud, not phishing, not shill. I got call from this number leaving me a message regarding possible credit card activity. I didn't call that number, I called the number on the back of my card, with whom I am a customer. They asked for no personal info. They just noted that, yes a call was made to me, and it was shown on their records. This call was made automatically right at the time I had just made a purchase that they wanted to verify. They just wanted to verify that I had indeed made of bunch of recent purchases, which I did. The call is legit. You don't have to call it back. You can call the known legit number on the back of your card, and they can verify that they did call you.
