Have received numerous voicemails from 888-851-4247 regarding our AT&T Business phone service.   These guys are NOT the real AT&T but rather "authorized AT&T resellers" who want to sign you up for a new phone plan which may or may not be with AT&T and not necessarily lower priced. Junk and deceptive telemarketing at it's finest.  

We received a call from this number under that guise they were AT&T stating that we were being required to switch our accounts over to VOIP and that is was mandatory.  Gave me this whole schpiel about how our bills would be combined for less money, would include our internet and phone services and Uverse.  Said they would send a confirmation email within two days with the details and then would call to set up a re-installation for our new modem for VOIP.  Email never came, called them a month later and was giving the same song and dance.  Again, email confirmation never came.  Finally called AT&T today and they had no idea who this was or that we qualified for the switch to VOIP.  In fact, our community hasn't even begun a migration so its not even possible until next year.   Beware of giving them information or details of your account.  AT&T has early termination fees and will charge you if you make changes to your account before your term of service expires.

They called & left a message that my AT&T equipment was outdated & that I needed to call them back asap!  I called my AT&T representative (from my AT&T bill) & was told this is a SCAM!!  They (AT&T) are trying to shut down this so-called operation.

I got a call from (888) 851-4247 claiming that my AT&T analog line needed to be converter to a digital (VOIP) line.... at a cost that is much higher than my current telephone plan.
I called the real AT&T customer service number and they verified that this is a scam

I got the same call - smelled of scam - glad I shut Mr Allen down - 888-851-4247 x 6707

Caller stated that they were AT&T and that we were required to change our equipment.  Failure to do so could lead to an automatic switch and increased bills.  What con artists!

Insists they are AT&T, yet will not offer any data for verification.  Can reduce the three phone lines and combine the u-verse line from approx. $400 to $135 per month, with credits since this has been in place for months!  Will "fax" contract to sign, yet never have received anything.
