I had this person call me, I think his name was a Mr. Wilson, said they had some very important legal documents and to call this toll free # and ask for a Mr. Stevens. Out of curiosity I called and wouldn't you know it, they said I owed them some money 'cause a legal debt they had bought, so I called the bank where I had the original debt and to my surprise it was true, I asked for advice they said it would be in my best interest to pay, for under the law they could take me to court. So I took the advice paid them. They sent a 0 balance on this and also sent it to Major Credit Burs (they helped and I paid less than what I owed)

My mom just received a call from them for me, and they said they had a warrant out for my arrest and they needed to serve me.  Warrant for summoms and complaint.   I will be all over them in the morning for upsetting my mother like this. And I will report them in as many ways as I can.

Yeah, I just had the same sort of situation occur. Except I'm estranged from my family; haven't spoken to them in years, well that is until today. 1 of my family members calls me, saying that they & 3 other family members were contacted by some company (they gave no names to them) and said that I'm being sued, & how they already have a scheduled court date. They then went on to say, they were only contacting them because I'm ignoring any contact with them & that if I continued they were gonna have me arrested. LOL, how funny cause I would assume to already have a summons or court date against me, they would need to go through me first, lol. Cause I've received notihng in the mail, no calls have been made & certainly not had someone knocking on my door.

Normally, I would just ignore this but they have no business contacting people that I don't even speak to. I had a similar experience back in March/April, though this whole court case thing didn't happen, so when I called this guy, he was very rude, threatening & yelling. Telling me, I had no right to tell him who he can or canot call. So, I told him he was gonna leave me with no choice but to file a harrassment lawsuit against him. I haven't heard or received any mail since than, so I assumed they backed off, apparently not.

THESE [***]! CALLED MY MOM IN SPANISH AND TOLD HER I HAD A LAWSUIT & WARRANT FOR A BOUNCED CHECK. I called my bank & they showed no history of a bounced check or even a written check in the past 4 years! They suggested I not disclose any of my personal information to them. I called them at the number they provided my mom (888-862-8078). They asked for my first & last name, which I was willing to disclose, but continued to ask me to verify my social. I told them I would not give them that so he said they could not tell me what the case was about. They gave my mom more information without her verifying ANYTHING than they would give me! I told him to not call my mom again & that I would be reporting them to that police. This is the first time I have ever encountered this type of situation. Not only are they scammers but they are bilingual scammers!

These people called me in the summer and harassed me and told me I was going to be arrested. I contacted the attorney general. My husband told them off and haven't heard from them since today when a woman named tori called me and said I had a packet from the sheriff or some bs. I dont owe any money so I know it's bs. I called back and he said I owed money and I told him I was going to contact the attorney general again and he hung up. These people are scammers! Don't give them any money at all!!!

Wow, I'm at work, and someone just called asking what our company's policy is on people being served in the workplace. She said that one of our employees was going to be served at work unless he called 888-862-8078 within the next two hours. She said if he doesn't call the number, he'd be served at work. They are idiots, the guy is on worker's comp and isn't even working right now! Besides, if it was really something from the courts, they aren't gonna warn a person they are coming...isn't that the whole point of serving someone? You don't call and warn them you're coming first! I took the number, but I'm not bothering my employee with this nonsense. We get calls every single day from these low lifes trying to get information on our employees, and they will resort to the lowest levels to do it. We've had people calling impersonating police officers, lawyers, you name it. And they try to sound so intimidating. It's really pathetic. So glad I googled this phone number. It gets harder and harder for me to be polite when people call our office and waste our time with this crap!

I just got a call from these people. they left a number on my husband's cell. They said that a credit card that i had a complaint against me and that HSBC is planning to take me to court over for $1300 BUT...if I paid them now they will see if they could drop $1000 and I would only have to pay $300. I did not pay because I could've sworn I closed out that account years ago. Im glad I looked into this. If someone like this calls you, dont ever pay until you do some research. I would call the card you owe and they will give you the number to the collection agency that they forward out to and I am almost certain its not these guys.

WOW! Thank you all for the input!  I totally bought into this BS and was so worried!  I'm in the military and my fiance is also who is in Afghanistan now. These people called up his sister stating, almost to a T, how my fiance will have a summons to federal court for an unpaid banking debt from 3 years ago.  Thinking to myself that I had all finances under control, I was freaked out that we might have missed something and he might have this unpaid debt.  There were some things that were kind of fishy like, them disclosing info to me over the phone about this so-called bank account that I have no part of, or that they were "the next step after collections"???? Or how about when I call the number back and its a voice recorded voicemail system.  We all know that any big company, esp one thats representing a national bank, is going to at least use an automated service!  Are you kidding me?? I cant believe I bought into this BS! Im canceling my card first thing in the morning and reporting them to all the military resources I can!  I can't believe these people had no issue taking my fiance's money when he's over doing what I've already done three times now!!

I received a call from National Alliance Associates the middle of January 2012. Asking my sister if I had been served papers, I called the number and got a very rude woman telling me that HSBC will sue me in the court for a debt. It showed up on my credit report as a charge off, which was $2,701. It shows a $6,425.10 balance. They said HSBC will settle for $4,000, I contacted Texas A.G. They are sending me paperwork to file a complaint against NAAC. I get retirement benefits and Social Security benefits these are protected by federal law, the Attorney General considers drafting $1,000 a month from my bank account as garnishment. I'm going to hang their [***] out to dry, besides the Sec of State of Texas office told me that NAAC is not registered to do business in the state of Texas.

I got a call from them as well googled the number just to see who it was and read all the reviews here then cancelled my card after i was offered a settlement. I then did all my homework and tracked the debt and they are a legit co. I then felt stupid and had to call them back and ask them if they would still honor the offer i was given... Thank god I spoke to a women who was very helpful... just track your debt and it will link right where it belongs before you fight the system... if you owed the debt chances are you still do and I knew about my hsbc but thought it went away after time boy was I wrong. but just do your own research threw the creditor and track it to the co who holds the debt and feel good about paying the right person.

Someone from this number just called my husbands mother and told them he was going to be served papers and she needed to contact him ASAP and let him know.  Gave her a case number to give to him as well.  She was terrified, so she called him at work and gave him the message.  He tried to call the number and was threatened with arrest if he didn't pay.  Pay what?  The person on the other end wouldn't even tell him what it was for.  Just told him how much he would have to pay.  These people are scammers and use threats to get people to pay.  Ignore them.  If (and that's a big IF) the debt is valid, call the original creditor and work with them.

I received a call from these people threatened a lawsuit/summons - having worked for assist states atty general and various well known attorneys, I was not alarmed just outraged that someone could call and threaten and leave a case number.  I am almost positive it is a HSBC debt from before I was divorced 2002 that was forged by my ex.  I spent 5 years in New Haven CT courts due to his stealing monies from my 401K, trying to cash in his pension when I am QDRO on it, etc.
I have spoken to them  (Household Finance) many times telling them he had numerous loans with them before married to me with his ex-wife and then more after me and before our divorce was final.  He was convicted in Superior Court of trying to write off a marital debt in bankruptcy and I was ultimately paid, with interest from the monies he stole.  The QDRO now stands so the pension is protected but I had to do that myself as my attorney dropped the ball and did not do the QDRO, leaving me open to his possibly cashing it in....I caught that in the knick of time.  It never ends, as Household Finance refuses to go after him or exam fraud - which they should - and I refuse to speak with them.....this goes back to 2000 or 2001 I believe and every couple of years they try to call me and collect a debt that is not mine.  There scare tactics and harrassment are outrageous and wrong and I will go to the highest level to have them stopped if necessary.  it is digusting.
