- robin| 3 repliesThey call me twice a day!!! They claim to be a collection agency. They're calling about an account from Carson's that was used in 1995. Claiming that I didn't pay them off and still owe $125 which I paid off long time ago. The thing that got me is that none of them speak English that well and their story changes everytime they call first it was 1995 then 1999 and today it was I made a payment in 2000 but I never did....Now they want my account # to make payments when I told them to send me a statement then I would pay them when I can. I don't have the money since my husband's accident. Then he tells me well what would I do if I got hurt tomorrow what would I do then. I told them if you can't send me paperwork your not getting my account number on the phone. Your not scamming me. He told me if I wanted to scam you I already have your social. No paper no payment!!!!!!I'm getting ready to call the police. Plus it never showed on my credit report!!!!!

- MorganI recommend that you file an On-line consumer complaint with Attorney General office of your state. For the state of Michigan, I simply went to www.michigan.gov, and clicked Attorney General, and then went to Consumer Complaints.
I basically documented a story much like yours, debt from many years ago was paid off or settled, but unknown company repeatedly phones my homes and attempts to obtain my banking information to pay off debt. I asked the representative key questions and received lack of cooperation, and therefore I didn't provide my banking information.
The last time something like this happened, I received a written letter from the company stating, "We will no longer contact (My Name) regarding this matter." So I'm hoping these people from the phone number 888-872-1566 will stop bothering me, I think, in an attempt to defraud me.
Also, I looked the phone number & company name: First Source Advantage, and found no real company.
Good Luck.- Caller: First Source Advantage
- SEVERIN GOODSWhy are they calling me & who are they I cannot understand the person
- crazy926They call me every other day, I think since July. It is a recording of a lady saying "this is first source advantage llc, please call us back at 1-888-872-1566". thats it. never says who they're calling for or about what. Its gotta be a scam, and I wouldn't try calling the number, they can re-route it to some off shore phone and charge you a bunch of money on your phone bill. Plus they'll try to get info from you. Dont tell them anything!!! I did find a website for them, or at least its the same company name, it says there in New York. www.firstsourceadvantage.com.

- *unknown*I get an *unknown* call every couple of days. Half of the time the voicemail they leave is either "Hello? Hello? click" or some unintelligle staticy India(?) call center message. I've played several of the messages and have yet to decipher every number they mention on the voicemails. I only came across the full 888 number by searching the net for close matches with the same complaints. [the comments on here make it sound like the same bunch]
I make it a habit to NOT answer Unknown calls. And there's no way in hell I'm going to give any information to someone who insists on hiding behind a wall. What sort of reputable business routinely blocks its caller ID information?? - JerryI recently started receiving calls from this company but the company is calling from 877-274-5890. They are calling me about a fraudulent Capitalone credit card. Even though I told them it was fraudulent they still insisted it was my card and I am responsible.

- ReginaI recently received a letter from FirstSource Advantage, LLC. Their listed phone number is 1-888-872-1566. This is a fraudulent attempt to collect on my JCPenney's credit card. This collection attempt first began in 2003 with Arrow Financial, then letters came from Capital Management Services. I've sent repeated certified letters to the companies disputing the entire validity of this debt. As required by law, I've notified the collection agencies within 30 days disputing the validity of this entire debt. However, by law they have not provided me with proof. In order to resolve this matter, send FirstSource a letter, obtain copies of your credit report from all three credit bureaus, then file a complaint with your state's Attorney General's Office.

- DianeSo far they have only called once, but if it becomes a repeat problem, i will be filing a complaint. I am on the national Do Not Call list so I don't understand how these people can still call. I have always made it a rule of thumb that if I have to say hello more than once to get a response the phone gets hung up!

- AlanThey called my 16-year-old daughter's cell about twice daily for over a week. When I called 1-888-872-1566, I got some guy with a thick accent that sounded like he was from India. (They probably outsourced to India.) We think they are some debt collection company looking for someone else. I kept the guy on the line as long as possible. Every time he spoke, I told him I didn't understand, and had him repeat it 3 or 4 times. I figure if everyone called them and took a lot of their time, their unethical harassment would become unprofitable. He kept asking for my name, but I refused to give it to him. In the end, I made sure he knew that we did NOT know the person they were calling about, and he said our phone number would be removed from their calling list.

- me| 2 repliesCalls from First Source, and a couple others at this point. They just won't stop. Someone else had this number and they've been notified of this. I'm not going to waste my time or money on even something as simple as a cease and desist letter.
So... I built an IP PBX (PBX in a Flash) and some custom rules based on caller ID. So now when one calls, it's forwarded to one of the other calling agencies. My phone barely rings now.
Also set up a rule that anything coming in from 800, 866, 877, 888, or a couple other area codes/numbers is first greeted with "Thank you for calling. Please note that I record all incoming phone calls. If you do not consent to being recorded, hang up now. If you do consent to this call being recorded, press 1 and if I'm here the line will connect." It's amazing how many calls disconnect almost immediately. Automated or not.
My phone logs are insane, but oh the fun I'm having...
Before any of you collection agency moles decide to slam me, please note that I've had one credit line in my life, and that was a student loan which is paid in full.- Caller: First Source Advantage

- MariaASG (First Source - 888-872-1566) contacted us last week for a "supposed" debt for $100+ we incurred in a state that we never lived in. We have always had excellent credit and pay all of our bills in full in a timely manner; so I knew this was fishy. The gentleman wanted us to pay the debt over the phone. The "strong" rude Indian descent told us they couldn't verify what the outstanding bill was - but that we certainly owed it and we had better pay now to protect our credit rating. Riiiiight....sounds like a scam to me. Seriously, do they think I'm that stupid? I have turned them into our State Attorney General. These people need to be off the streets and out of business. MBH most certainly works for a company like this - why else would he be checking out this website?

- mweaver63These putz keep calling me. its always a recorded message that has an important message for me, and has my full name with my middle initial. I called them back about 5 times tonight and spoke with several indian sounding idiots. one or two of them claimedthey were a collection colmpany for a delinquent capitol one account I have. all good except I dont have a Capitol one account of any kind. One even proposed that he would give me MY social security # if I promised I would pay the old bill. Needless to say he couldnt come up with the #. I am going to call Capitol One and tell them the story so maybe they will investigate the problem
