called a client

This joker called me at 8AM this morning, asking for someone named "Victor Green". That is NOT my name. He said that some complaints have been filed against this person for fraud and to call him back. He gave a case number of CS323925 and the "last four" of "Victor's social" as "5505". This call came at 8AM this morning. The guy's name that called claimed to be "John Campbell". He left all of this on voicemail. I called back to tell him he has the wrong number, the first call I got a secretary or something who transferred me right to him. I told him I had never heard of this "Victor Green". He asked me if I knew why he was using my number as a contact number and if I just got this (my) number. I told him no, I've had this number for almost 20 years. He then got very rude and hung up on me. I called back to ask him what gives? He replied VERY rudely, "we have nothing to say to you, I am not going to continue this call." I tried to ask him "what the hell, if someone is using my number as a contact and committing fraud I want to know more about this!" but he hung up on me AGAIN. WTF? Who are these people??

IM SO UPSET CAUSE THIS JOHN CAMPBELL GUY CALLED ME AT 6:03 PM SAYING I GOT A $200 DOLLAR LOAN AND I HAD TO PAY $370 DOLLARS OR ELSE THEY WOULD SUE ME, I TOLD HIM IM NOT SENDING ANY KIND OF PAYMENT UNTIL I GET AN EMAIL EXPLAINING TO ME WHATS GOING ON HE NEVER EMAILED ME I CALLED AND TOLD HIM IF HE DIDNT SEND THE EMAIL THEY WOULDNT GET A PAYMENT HE EMAILED ME BUT IT WAS ABOUT SOME KIND DRIVING CAR INSURACE (BCUSA) SO I TRIED TO EMAIL HIM BACK NOW THE EMAIL WONT GO THROUGH.

Received voicemail advising needed to call this number back about a pending civil matter. Called the number back was told this was in regards to a loan from 2007 which didn't ring any bells for me. Explained I needed some type of proof doesn't believe this is my account mr said will send me an email.

Don't legitimate debt collectors have to send some type of proof of what debt is owed? I have been getting recorded calls for the past two weeks from this Cambell person.  I looked up their supposed company name on the internet and came up with nothing.  Does anyone have an address for them? First they said they were calling from Goldman, Prices & Associates, then they said the "Law Offices of Goldman and Price".

I've received this message on my answering machine several times.

"Look, I'm calling on behalf of Mr. Thompson of the law offices of Goldman, Price and Associates. He's asked that you call him today at the toll free number 888-875-5183 extension 327"

The guy must have rehearsed this, (probably in the bathroom for the echo effect) several times to get it to sound just right. I wonder if he and his criminal "Associates" brainstromed on what to record.

I delete it right away every time. If you break it down, you can tell it's not legit. To me they are just phishing to scam someone, anyone. I wouldn't sweat over it. If you really owed or were owed anything you would be contacted through legal channels. Besides, who begins a sentence with "look"...only [***] low-lifes and their prostitute mothers. Jack is right.  Don't sweat over these people.  The same guy leaves 888-875-5183 extension 327 on behalf of Mr. Thompson on my parents' voicemail.  When I called to let him know he had the wrong number, he became obnoxious and proceeds to tell me that it's impossible that extension 327 was left as the callback.  Extension 327 belongs to the Director (he pronounced it as DIE-RECK-TORE) of Claims Department. <insert his condescending chuckle here>
He proceeds to tell me Mr. Thompson is no longer employed by their firm.  SAY WHAT?!?!?!!?   "Then why did you say you were calling on his behalf when you left the message 1/2 hour ago?" I asked.  
Did he really want me to play back the message he left? <insert my chuckle here>
If they were legitimate, you would be contacted through the proper channels.

The only other people who begin a sentence with "look" would be their pimp daddies.

I just received the exact same message! I have no idea who these people are or what they want; what I do know is that if someone is getting ready to sue you they don't call you and tell you, they just do it. Bunch of Rat [***]!

I just got a call from 888-875-5183 telling me that they had a file on me.  I don't think that is possible.  I have been having scam calls from someone that says they are financial criminal investigators and they are turning me over to the legal system today.  Today I get a call from the above number.  I know it is a scam, I have no intention of calling them.  Whatever happened to the "do not call" list?
If this continues, I will file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.

This number called me recently and left very rude messages! They said they had sent me correspondence regarding a civil lawsuit and I haven't respond so this will go to a higher authority! Please....I have NOT received anything in writing about a lawsuit or civil matter that I'm part of! If you are being sued for anything, you WILL receive something in writing no matter if you have moved because the law can find you! These people deserve to be shut down!

I have received a message from this company. I have been dealing for months with people calling and harrassing me with Indian Accents. I have had to report them all. And now this...what gives? When are they going to lose my information. I have learned to check all numbers that call me now because of these people. I do not even know how in the world they got my information to begin with. This just sucks!!

This person keeps calling my family and friends trying to get my number. They say we have committed check fraud 4yrs ago and need to reach us for court. We have NO checking account. I called them, the guy on the line said he was from the DA's office and he said that he couldn't send us any information on what we were being charged with. Really

this is the second time I have had calls like this. First time around was about my grandma and this time my husband. Isn't there something we can do to stop this crap!

I have received at least 3 phone calls a day for the last week from these people.. it's a pre-recorded message from 716-247-6329..stating that " We have now received your file and would like to speak with concerning your file, when you call back please have your file number available for review with our associates"!?...and they tell me to call 1-888-875-5183.

There is never a file number in the message.. just the same message every time. I am thinking this is a spam recording off of something I must have entered my cell number in on the internet? (purchases or something?) I dont use my cell number on anything but the internet.. so I know it's not a debt collector, My bills are all paid on time.. so I have to deduce that this is a scam..

This should be illegal considering most of us pay for phone calls received on a cell phone.... ridiculous.

I received a call on my cell phone at 8am from (716) 247-6329, it was a NY  #, so I didn't answer. A recorded message was left on my voicemail saying they were trying to contact me about a returned item from my bank and it would be in my best interest for myself or my counsel to call immediately. It then said to call (888) 875-5183 to discuss a settlement . The recording said we are trying to reach, then it skipped and mentioned no name . They said to contact them immediately and refer to file #, and it skipped again and gave no file #. Since I knew of no returned item & I live in CA, I was confused so I googled the name and it pulled up a construction company in NY. This is obvious FRAUD! I have recently had similar experiences, idiots using very threatening language and saying that I have officially been served & that the police would be coming to my work to give me court documents. I found out they were frauds too. These criminals use fear to try to get innocent people to give them money they don't owe. Always ask then to send you proof and documentation in the mail, they can't do it so they get mad & rude and  hang up on you. Don't trust any call like this unless you have proof and know you owe the debt. They are everywhere!!

I received this same call today on my house phone around 2pm from the (716)# saying I had a returned item from the bank & also that it would be in my best interest to call back on the (888)# to "discuss a voluntary resolution in this matter"...As well as not leaving the name of the person they needed to speak to...they did NOT leave THEIR name either...or a file # to refer to when I do call them back!!  I know for a fact that I have NEVER done business with Goldman, Price & Associates & I also know that I DO NOT have ANY returned items on ANY of my bank accounts.!!  The guy who left the message was rude & demanding...and he expects a response from me?!  I will respond to that jerk by posting his BS on every site I find that takes complaints about his kind of crap!!  I too live in Calif. & am also tired of those who scheme & scam & try to interupt my day with it...so I too fight back!!

...this jerk called my house  at 8 am asking for my daughter's husband , who she is separated from, and would not give information as to why they were calling  claiming  they had a message.  what's interesting is these are people who scan public records, police reports and other open records to  dubiously use the Freedom Of Information act  to try and scam people!!  How pathetic  !! -- don't ever answer questions from Goldman Price & Associates -- they are just crooks!!

A lady answered and said my name and said she will process my information and then discoed the call.
