- PatThese stupid text messages just started to appear on my phone. Texted "STOP" received a message that I am not subscribed to their services... So, why the heck are they sending me crap to begin with?

- CurtisDO NOT respond to or send STOP when you receive a message from these scammers. CALL your provider and complain and insist that they remove the charges and block any further from these scammers. If your telephone provider does not place a block you will get the charge every month.
MBLOX is the outfit making millions off these scams.- Caller: JBLOX

- MitchReport this company to the donotcall.gov website and to your cell provider. I called Sprint and they put a block on my line so these scammers cannot get any money from me.

- TaL| 2 repliesStarted getting these weird texts today. "IQ Power: Welcome to Trivia Alerts! 3xmsgs/wk Monthly charge billed @ $9.99/mo. Reply HELP or call 8888906150 for help, STOP to cancel Msg&Data Rages May Apply" Then seconds later, I got msgs about fish having voices.
Called Verizon, the rep said that there isn't a charge to my account...yet. She told me to reply STOP, then I got the msg saying that there would be no further msgs or charges. The rep then put a block on this company for me. She said to watch my bill carefully and to contact Verizon right away if I see anything else that is suspicious. I have also sent a complaint to the FCC. I have no idea how this company got my cell #, I never use it for anything when I sign up for things.- Caller: IQ Power

- Rick replies to TaLI got the same message and i got charged $9.99 on my last months bill. This is the second time I've received this text. I send STOP but evidently that doesn't work. I will be visiting my local Verizon store today.
- ChrisI got a message about cranberries being able to bounce. I sent a stop message back immediately and then call the 888-890-6150 number. I got a rep that was clearly from the Phillipines who spoke very broken English saying I opted in to this service and I would be charged. I could not even get the name of this company. I called Verizon Wireless and I have a premium message block on my phone so they should not have been able to get through. I had not been charged yet but to watch my bill just to be on the safe side. I don't know how this scam company got my cell phone number.

- MichaelI received a text message from 239-18. It was from BrainStorm IQ, and told me that I was being charged 9.99 a month, and to call 8888906150 for help. I called the number to find out what this was, the rep told me I had subscribed to their service when in fact I had not. I asked for his supervisor. She came on and said the company was called Mobile Media, and that they were based in California. She would not provide the city in CA. She told me she was located offshore. I notified them to stop sending me anything at all, and to refund any billed charges. She said they would send me a check for 9.99$ as a refund and that I would be added to their Do Not Call list. The initial rep could not do this. I contacted my cell phone provider as well, and they blocked the number for me. Wasted some of my time, but worth it, as these leeches would continue to charge me until I contacted them.

- SillypointMobile call from this number (888-906-6150), sick of these phone companies creating loopholes for these companies to call and bother us and than sell solutions to charge more money to block. ATT wireless has a solution for $ 4.99.
ATT- "you could block all texting or add Smart Limits to your line temporarily until the other number stops texting you. Smart Limits is a pay feature the cost is $4.99 per line. I recommend you inform the telemarketer than you wish to be placed on the no call list."
I have stopped giving out my cell number and use google voice which allows me to block for free.- Caller: I dont know

- JagrskmuShowed up as IQCALL on my bill. Called AT&T and they canx and reimbursed.

- Katie R.I finally got tired of them spamming me with texts and it said text STOP this number. I texted stop and they charged me 9.99 for it. I called AT&T and we figured out the problem. Mary was very nice and applied a credit to my account. Unfortunately this is legal due to some stupid loopholes and the only way not to get them is by applying a text blocker which blocks all text so i obviously won't do that. So I guess I'll have to live with the 11pm texts and hope they go to ****.
- Bjorn| 3 repliesLast month - a company, IQQUIZ (aka, sent me an SMS text indicating the they would be sending my phone "fun facts" and I would be charged $9.99 / month for this unsolicted service.
I immediately called AT&T and had the $9.99 charge removed. AT&T put a block on my phone number to prevent future occurrences. I also complained to the MO Atty General's office about the fraud. The Atty General sent a letter indicating they would investigate.
Oddly enough, I just received an anonymous check, processed through WebmasterCheck$, for the amount of $9.99 with my cell number in the remarks section. No other explanation offered.
It seems in some small way - I've profited from their fraud...- Caller: IQQUIZ (short code 903-23)

- Matt replies to Bjorn| 2 repliesFor ATT customers: If you get any of these spam messages DO NOT REPLY ANYTHING! Forward the message to "SPAM". It will go to AT&T. They will reply back "...Now, reply with the sender's phone number so we know who sent you this message." Then cut and paste the phone number that spam text came from. AT&T will respond, "Thank you, we appreciate your assistance."
If you reply anything back to the spam they are known to use that as your agreement to start charging you. This is what happened to me when I replied "STOP". I got my bill, saw a $9.99 charge and had to call AT&T to get it removed. There was another charge for the upcoming month, so my guess is I replied STOP more than once to these jerks. The AT&T rep said these messages can say "if you don't want our service, do not respond STOP" or something along those lines to trick people into signing up. - Matt replies to MattAlso, for ATT customers you can view any mobile purchase (assuming you do have some legit ones) to see if you are being charged for some scam at any time. Go to www.att.com/db
there you put in your phone number. ATT will text you a pin, then input the pin and a summary of your mobile purchases and downloads is listed. This is just stuff charged to your ATT bill, not services like the Apple APP or Google APP stores. - Jack| 1 replyHow do ATT customers forward a text message to SPAM?
