- hillsboroRobo-call that said "By continuing to listen to this call you acknowledge you are Justin Guttman." That is a lot of bull, because I am not Justin, and "acknowledgment by listening" is as phony as the "shrink-wrap EULA's" that come with software. I wish that for once, the government would do something that matters to the average US citizen; ike making phone carriers deal with this crap in an effective way. Call routing is done by computers now, so why can't I just punch in a code while the annoying caller is on the line that blocks them until I go online and unblock that number (if I ever wanted to). I can hear the phone companies crying already "That would cost us millions." Well they are making billions and if they want to stay in business they should protect there customer satisfaction. I would also be in favor of the police raiding some of these operations in full battle gear, because honestly, I don't care about the "war on drugs" (what kind of country declares war on it's own citizens?) and I wish the DEA could be re-purposed to solve everyday problems like identity theft, spammers, graffiti, and robo callers. I would VOTE for a politician that promised me that!

- Just DuckyGot a automated call saying that it was to collect a debt, for a person totally unknown to everyone residing at this phone number. We just refinanced our home, and the underwriters for the loan turned over every stone in our credit history. Our credit is perfect, no debts.
My feeling is there is a network of callers that profile households and the schedules of their owners, so they can be targeted with home invasion / burglary, or some other crime. There is just too much of this to be an accident. There should be a lot more investigations instituted, to find out who is working with who and for what reason. I think some MAJOR crime rings would be identified. Probably safer to just use cell phones (turn off the GPS location reporting) and SKYPE. Then have any residential phones disconnected.- Caller: Plaza

I agree with the fellow above....FCC ought to put a fire underneath these people that are afraid to admit who and what they are...."Rachel from cardholders" is another one...that FCC needs to take down!- Caller: Unknown

- Annoyed UserSame as all the others here - debt collection. Twist here is that I called the number a few months ago, spoke to a human, convinced them I wasn't the person they were looking for and that they had my phone number incorrectly associated with the deadbeat they were looking for. That took some time, but it worked. Then, two months later - I get the call again from 888-907-0045. So...
I logged on to my comcast Xfinity account, went to the preferences tab, and entered call manager and configured call blocking for the above number. With luck, that will prevent these nag messages from coming in. I get 4 or 5 a year and have been for the past 3 yrs.- Caller: Unknown Debt Collector

- SAPlaza Recovery, debt collectors. Calling for someone I don't know. I have previously called them back to say "I am not [X] and I don't know them; take me off your list." Took me 3 tries to get someone who wouldn't hang up on me but they agreed to remove my number. Now they're calling again, breaking federal law. Again, when I call for removal, the first several tries involve people hanging up on me or refusing to get their supervisor. FCC complaint filed.

- SmithI just got yet another call from these lower life forms. I've been getting calls off and on from them, from Frederick Hannah, or any number of other so-called collectors for several years now. Only thing is, all my debt was discharged in Federal Bankruptcy Court over 8 years ago. These creeps buy up old debt for pennies on the dollar, then try to intimidate you into making payments to them to get them off your back. Once you start up with them, you are re-setting the clock (depending on your state of residence) on your debt, which, if you are like me, you no longer even owe. When I see these calls come in, I just don't answer. That's why I have caller i.d. If I know the number, I will answer, if I wish, otherwise, they can take a flying leap. If they really had a case for collection, they (ANY of these collectors) would have sent me something in the mail years ago. But they never have. So, they can call til their fingers fall off. If you wouldn't answer your door to some unknown person standing out there, why would you answer your phone to someone you didn't know?? Get a grip, people, and don't answer that phone!!

- the cheeseSame thing here. Several calls all for someone I dont know regarding debt collection . I have had this # more than 10 years. I dont know why I keep a land line, but in all seriousness, they only people that ever call it are telemarketers, people soliciting donations, or election BS. They should not have the right to call...not all of us work 9-5, and I get tired of being woke up.
