Got a call and received a letter imitating Verizon requesting that we call 8889760259

Got a call that Verizon Wireless password was reset, no one requested a reset of the password.  Check the account and all was fine.  This is a scam number that needs to be ignored or reported.

Received an email with the same number. Similar situation no changes were made to our VZ account. Report it to phishing@verizon.com

just got the call...followed up with a supervisor there... very fishy...ask lots of questions that may be legitimate but when you  press for them to prove their credentials they are no longer professional.

Nor can I find anything that links up the regular Verizon.com with the inquiry...

Got message saying it was from Verizon, something was added to my Verizon mobile account.  My mobile phone is not Verizon.  This is a phising scam, DON'T call them back.

Thanks.  Didn't answer.  I sent it to voicemail and then immediately had another call a few seconds later.  Added this to my phone's block list.

They called posing as Verizon to verify adding a mobile phone to my account (left a message on my machine). I do not have a mobile Verizon account although I have my cable and internet with this company. Checked my account and no mobile phone was added. Googled their number and found this page. Looks like phone phishing scam.

I got 22 calls from these people over a 40 minute time period.  I did not answer, but this is ridiculous.

Received 4 messages from someone saying Verizon calling about some problem requiring my attention. Called phone number 888-976-0250 as requested. There was a convincing spoof of Verizon. I even told them the reason for my call. They said they would transfer my call to Technical Help and told me to call 855-233-8724, if for some reason, I was disconnected. After I was disconnected I called the 855 number and Rachel of Veteran's Home Mortgage answered.

I attempted to report this to to Verizon but unable to find a phone number to call.

I not only got a letter in the mail, but 2 emails asking me to call this number about a change to my Verizon account. There were no changes.

We keep getting a call from "UNAVAILABLE" 888-976-0259. It's very troublesome when they keep calling many many times a day. We DO NOT answer such calls!!!!!!!!!!! Already this morning they have called twice within a 5 minute period before 8:30!!!!!!!!

I tried to call that number back and got a fast busy many times.  Finally, I got Verizon and shared what was going on and he said that he might be a glitch in their system.  BUT he also said that Scammers can receive the call and transfer you to Verizon while they stay on the line and listen to the information you share with Verizon and collect it that way.  So, in short, ONLY call the numbers you have for your Service Providers.  Hope this is helpful as I spent over an hour with various Verizon folks this morning and only one person had some clue as to what was going on.

I did make a change to my verizon account, and they called me to verify.  This was legitimate, and a necessary part of their security procedures.  This was not a scam as others have indicated.

It is, indeed, a scam. A very well orchestrated scam, but still a scam. Good luck if you gave them any information.

This is a legitimate Verizon number that calls to confirm changes to your Verizon account. They called, I didn't pick up and they left a message. We did request a change a few days ago and this was simply confirming that we had, in fact, made a change. They tell you to call them if you didn't make any changes, but that no action is needed if you did change things. Just a fraud protection measure.

These scammers just called today claiming that changes were made to my Verizon account. They asked for my e-mail address, which is something that Verizon should already have on file. If you do give them your e-mail address they can send you malware through your account, so make sure not to open any unknown mail if you've already made the mistake of giving them your e-mail address. They also leave comments on complaint websites like this in an attempt to convince people that the phone number is in fact legitimate.

Don't believe anything they say, and don't give them any of your information, just hang up. And warn your friends about these scams!

This number has been calling for several days claiming to be Verizon. When I called Verizon directly to check it out I was told it is a scam that has been going on for about a month. They are trying to get personal information, hang up.
