SENIORS AND NEW COMPUTER USERS WARNING!!! THIS IS AN UNSAFE CALLER!!! SCAM ARTIST!!! Middle Eastern / India, Indian man called from Fernandina, Florida saying my computer was sending error messages and it was having problems. So I asked him what company he was calling from. He claimed he works for Microsoft but I know he was lying because, 1.) I am still using Windows XP and Microsoft no longer supports XP in any capacity. 2.) My husband works in the techie (mostly servers these days, but was an IT guy / computer geek for ages before being moved over to work with the servers) field and has been for years. As a result of my husband's field of work I learned a lot about scammers, viruses, and the like. So I tell the guy he's full of [***]. So he says ever so politely, "I know you are, ma'am." So then I say to him, "You are a scam artist!!" Then he hangs up. ha! Remember folks, if you have not been in contact with Microsoft and are not expecting a call from Microsoft, or anyone calls saying they are from Microsoft, they are lying! Nobody can "see" error messages on your computer, unless you connect your computer with someone you know is from Microsoft (or someone you know is safe)! Never!
Somehow, I don't think this guy will be calling back... If he does, I'm going to tell him my husband works for the local police on their internet crime task force. hahahaha! I wonder if he'll hang up right away?
