I rent an apartment and they called. so it isn't just for mortgages.

The number is used by a company named Select Portfolio Services. They are a predatory lending unit that buys mortgages. In my case they use this number to harrass me trying to get me to pay my mortgage by phone. I'd have no problem but the charge is $45.00 for this service. They absolutly will not stop calling. the calls strat 15 days before the bill is due.

Same here.  Select Portfolio Services starts calling me a few days before my payment is due.  We also have until the 10th before it is considered late, and if the payment has crossed in the mail, they will call relentlessly, starting on the 1st.  Very irritating.

I get calls from these people nearly every day.  It also happens to me a couple of days before the 10th.  It is extremely irritating!

The call time was 8:03am.  I didn't pick up the call.

sps called me about a release of my bankruptcy note from another state saying they needed to verify my phone and that the note had been released on april 1st and i told her the joke was on her and this was not true and that i would not be taking anymore calls from them, what kind of scam is this.and how did theyfind me?.my attorney says not to speak to them and just say i have an attorney .is this happening to anyone else losing my home was bad enough now there are these predators out there whats next

I do not have a mortgage payment, and no over due bills. I live with roommates, and they still keep calling me. Everytime I change my number there they are again. I do not have credit cards won't use them. So why call me?

It is Select Portfolio Serving, they are a morgage company.  They bought our home loan from Washington Mutual.

Ditto.  Mortgage isn't late until the 15th, and they start calling on the 2nd.  They've stopped leaving messages, but when they do they try to scare you by implying you're already late.  They'll call 5-10 times a day and at all hours.

I keep getting callls from SPS my new mortgage company who Bank of America  sold my mortgage to. They keep calling 15 days before my payment is due . They are rude/ignorant as hell. I stoped answering their calls. I don't need a reminder when my payment is due.

This is a mortgage lender/broker Select Portfolio Services. they bought my mortgage from Bank of America. sucks because there are no local branches i can go and make a payment. over the phone fee and internet fees are rediculous.

I stop making payment because they keep asking, like bank of america, the same documents over and over.suspicious way to refinance your mortgage.i am thinking about hiring  a lawyer but i can't afford one i am waiting for an approval so i restart payment.

This is Select Portfolio Services.  They just took over our mortgage from Chase. So far the people I have been dealing with as we re-work our loan have been very polite and helpful and they seem to be trying extra hard to help us find a way to keep our home.  I am quite grateful for this chance.  I have worked extremely hard to get back on our feet and appreciate having them work with me.  Hopefully things will remain positive.

Folks, there's a website you should look into, it's called Ripoff Report, free to join. Also, since you've gotten burned so badly on banks, try a credit union--their rates are better than banks, and since you're a part-owner in a credit union you get treated far better. And, most of them will accept anyone.

I spoke to a Bruce Wallin of Select Portfolio Servicing, in Utah. SPS took over my loan and SPS is trying to foreclose.
