I keep getting calls form the following number 9049543072 caller ID say marketing the answering machine picks up and the caller hangs up without l;eaving a message. I finally called this numer from a phone other than my home phone and found out if was citicards calling me looking for the person that had my phone numer prior to me recieving it. I explained to them that I did not have an account with them and did not know the individual they were looking for but the calls have not stop.

This is from Citicards collection but I would call the phone number on the back of your card before giving any account information.  People can do all sorts of creative things with caller ID these days.  I am overly cautious after having my credit card stolen twice.

If someone had your number before and they're trying to reach that person, they won't give up! Hawaii is 6 hours earlier than the East Coast and I get calls at 3,4,5 in the morning. You HAVE to call them and insist they stop calling. Sometimes they do....sometimes they don't. Anyone know how to report if they don't stop?

Called my work # wanting another steph and did not say last name.  Tried to get my info. and tell me my credit card was unpaid when they were hunting a different person.  Then they just hung up, no explanation.

day and night these jokers call and i don't even have dealings with citibank
i have been a victim of identity theft twice over - they are calling my cell even on holidays -beware also the caller id may only show an area code as 718 by itself or another number they use is 505-797-6333 the location is albequreque on that one -good luck everyone -i have been harassed for about three weeks now -has anyone out there taken any drastic measures please post thanks

I keep getting calls from this number asking for someone other than me.  I believe it is some kind of scam to get my name and then try and have a credit card issued in my name.  Someone needs to check into this for fraud...

This is probably a scam. Don't give them any info. They are probably going to issue credit cards in your name, once you tell them who you are. They are calling on my cell phone.

This is the same scam they run by email attempting to obtain the last bit of personal info they need about you to get credit in your name. Answer the phone and think about the questions they ask. Would you give that info to ANYONE let alone an unknown caller. CitiCorp has told me for years they will never make a call to you with account problems - only fraud. They will not ask account information. They only want to verify that you made a purchase. In all other matters, until you contact them, they will only write to the address on the account and ask that you contact them.

I consantly get calls too 904 area code and 505 area code.  I just don't answer, but it's annoying because it is my cell phone and they use up my minutes and have called everyday for two weeks and they never leave a message! I believe it is probably a fraud because my cell phone number has changed and it's not published.

my husband has been getting calls from the "citigroup" now the issue is we never gave them this number. the number isn't even listed under his name (or mine) that and they never talk to us we hear someone breathing but no answer.... kinda creepy. either way its just best not to give your info to anyone who calls you. they will then have your citi card number your last 4 digits of your ssn and a diff credit card number (they'll ask for your citi number and your ssn and then a way of payment) then your screwed.

My cell phone is getting 7-10 of these calls per day, with no message, and no id, just that number. My land line is getting those awful hangup calls, only I'm the one who has to hang up. I wonder if one of those company's has a wacko working there who stole some numbers. B/c if so, that person has all our info...

I continually receive calls from this number and when I answer, I receive an answering service.  Who is this?  It is very irritating, calls first thing in the a.m.

the number that is calling you is because you havent paid your credit card bill.......its not a scam, its not a telemarketer trying to get your info.

YOUR PAST DUE on your credit card!

It is a scam, the debts they claim to have are invalid, and they refuse to accept proof of payment!!
