This number is registered to "CRS" - a Canadian collection agency currently under investigation for fraudulent business practices by the Ontario Ministry of Consumer Services. Typically they claim "to have a package from the post office or courier company", and require "further information", address, other family members names, etc. They will then use this information to harass and attempt to intimidate people or their family members into paying non-existent debts. If you receive calls from them, the Ministry advises you not to speak with them, record the calls if possible, and contact the Ministry of Consumer Services.

I can't add any more to this "so-callED company" than what has been already said....except...if you see a phone number constantly on your phone's display screen but there is NEVER an accompanying VOICE-MAIL...something is WRONG...and to be REPORTED & AVOIDED!

Interesting.  I've been getting phone calls on a daily basis, every morning from these clowns and it's beginning to piss me off just a bit.    I answered one of the calls when they started and couldn't understand a thing they were talking about it.  I'm with Telus by the way.

Oddly enough, all of this didn't start happening until I did little investigation on my credit file on both Equifax and Transunion.  I have no debts, but I was curious about some information. Interesting.

I AM A REAL COLLECTION AGENT!
Some Btch named Meara called FROM 905-283-1000 today left a message saying for someone to call (1-888-771-5803) her back for a great opportunity?  WTF talk about misleading and lying with the intent to decieve!  She called an unlisted secured line!  Btch your fkn with wrong one!  I will SUE!  You obtained my number illegally!  And you were told you had the wrong number and you refuse to awknowledge it Btch I sure hope you got alot fkn $$$$ because I will take you for everything you gots!  I am a true collector and your crossing the line when you fraudantly mislead people and decieve because you make it bad for the legitimate company! to which your company is NOT legit!  TELL THEM TO GO FK THEMSELVES! Especially if it been over 10yrs they have NO rights to harrass you!  Read below If you really had owed them money if they were the ORGINIAL company to which you had owed to they had that time line period to take you to court!  IF THEY DIDN'T WELL TOO FKN BAD! This company is claiming on other companies bad debts to which they are most certainly NOT intitled too!  DON'T GIVE THEM A FKN CENT!  THEY ARE CON ARTISTS TRYING TO EXTORT MONEY ON DEBTS THAT HAD ALREADY BEEN PAID OFF BY THE GOVERNMENT BAD DEBTS BAILOUT PROGRAM!

Limitations Acts - "Statute of Limitations"
The Federal Government and the Provinces have Limitation Acts which provide a limit on the time an unsecured debt survives. If an unsecured debt is not collected or payments are not made on the unsecured debt then after a certain time no legal action can be taken to collect the debt.

A March 4, 2003 decision of the Supreme Court of Canada, Markevich v. The Queen decided that limitations applied to CRA as well as other Crown proceedings. Section 32 of the Crown Liability and Proceedings Act and Section 3 (5) of the BC Limitation Act barred collection of the Federal and Provincial portions of the debt since the debt was more than 6 years old. This decision was "overruled" when parliament amended section 222 of the Income Tax Act to provide for a 10 year limitation period.
    Collins v. Canada, 2005 FCA 1431 CanLII.

British Columbia - Section 3 (5) of the BC Limitation Act sets 6 years as the limit for debt.
◦Alberta - The Alberta Limitations Act sets 2 years as the term which is extended to 10 years if there is a judgement.
◦Ontario - The Ontario Limitation Act 2002 , came into force on January 1, 2004. It sets two years as the term (Section 4). This limitation will be reinstated where the debtor acknowledges the debt or makes a partial payment towards repayment of his debt. If the default occurred prior to January 1, 2004, the creditor will continue to have 6 years to pursue the claim. However, if the default occurred after January 1, 2004 then the 2-year rule applies.

I arranged a repayment schedule with these clowns.  Since then they have violated the terms on numerous occasions.  They continually mis-represent themselves, and violate Ontario laws, and industry regulatory provisions.
As a result I have stopped repayment, and have referred the matter to a lawyer, and the Ministry of Consumer Services.

The reason I got called is because I have a landline that's listed. Someone who lived at my address before owed money apparently and one way these guys get phone numbers is through reverse look-up.
I've never had any debt go to collections but I feel for those who have because I know firsthand just how evil these guys can be.
The 'woman' I spoke to lied and said that the guy she was looking for had given my number as contact. I told her that that was impossible unless he'd made up a random phone number that happened to be mine. I told her that I couldn't help her and to stop phoning and she kept saying that I was was lying and then she hung up on me. I called back and told her she wasting her time and probably money harassing me and that I would continue to call HER back and waste HER time until this ended. This time she said she'd go to the originally company and 'verify' the information - which was just a bullsh*t out on her part, but at least she knew I was serious.
If she calls again I'm going to tell her the call is being recorded and ask her to repeat clearly the statements she'd made.
A few years ago a similar thing happened except that it had to do with a woman who had lived in my building. The agent then wouldn't believe that I wasn't this woman - so I invited him to come down and inspect my apartment, check my ID, and personal phone book to see if he could find any evidence of this woman he was looking for... Unbelievable.
If they threaten you, call their bluff.

I got a call from this number as well, someone named Lydia. I called back and got yelled at from a lady named Marcia (sp?) and then I called back and spoke with Lydia and explained the situation that I took care of everything and I am dealing with Rogers. She mentioned to me that I have to give them all the particulars, to which I mentioned that I have already spoken with Rogers and that I will be dealing with them directly and that if they want the info they can get it from them and not to contact me again. I also told them that they should tell Marsha or Marcia to take a time out if she cannot deal with speaking to people on the phones, knowing full well that she works for a collection agency and people will call her and complain and possibly yell at her, granted all I did was ask her a few questions so that I would know with whom I am dealing with.

If you call this company and get Marsha or Marcia on the phone ask to speak with someone else.

They just called me minutes ago asking me if I am Laner Eduwo or if someone named Laner Eduwo is working for me or if someone named Laner Eduwo is working with me at a same company. I kept on saying that I do not know anybody named Laner Eduwo and that he is calling a personal mobile number. I googled their number and I saw this page. Why are they still in business? :|
