I have been getting these calls for the last several months. I have never answered (until today) and the message left was just the remaining 20 seconds or so of their recorded message telling you there is an offer on your account and to press 1 if you are interested, and also that this is the last offer of the season. (Whatever, they call myltiple times a month... short season, eh?) I had no idea what it was for. When I answered today I pressed 1 and waited for a woman to come on. She didn't identify herself until I asked, giving me a badge number and saying she represented Visa/Mastercard and she could give me a lower rate. She only had my first initial and wanted my card number and approximate balance and then "verified it"(yes, that means I was stupid enough to give it to her... she was good at convincing me when I was hesitant). Anyway, she said my balance was too close to my credit limit so I didn't qualify (yeah, qualify for her to use my card?). I immediately called my credit card company and had my card cancelled and they warned me never to give out card info on the phone (I KNOW... but I was stupid enough to do it anyway *sigh*). Take a lesson from me and HANG UP on them!!!
