Calling nobody on the line and when I call back the number is not in service

Contacted Bell Canada and searched Canada411 reverse lookup... found out this number (905-988-5265) is a telemarketing number used by Rogers Communications soliciting. The address is 5 Great Western St. in St.Catharines, Ontario. The number is "OUT OF SERVICE" if you try to call it back.

this will remove my name from about 90% of telemarketer's lists for about 3 years. That is what I'm going to do right now... you can register for no calls, e-mails or faxes... a great way for us to fight back!!

This # calls my house all the time. They call at 11 at night and on Sundays. When I answered 1 time, they claimed to be doing a survey. A couple years ago,this # could be called back and it was Capitol One. Now, it claims to be out of service. I did a reverse # search and although I knew it was a St. Catharines, Ontario #, it ends up showing on the google search map to be out of the Buffalo, New York are on a St. Catherines Court. This # is spoofed and calling Canada out of the States using a Canadian spoofed #. This # has called my home many times under many different names, but now can't be called back. Next time they call, I will tell them I know what they are doing and am going to report them to the CRTC and the FTC.

This # called twice today - when you call back
it says not in service and then you get a busy sound.

I get a phone call from this number on a daily basis.

I can't beleive it. This number has so many things going on u know it's a scam, the new one when i got called is an adt rep...or so they say because when i called adt they said they don't do calls like it as they only offer the service not the equipment or would they offer a trip!! watch out people. Now we will be getting a security system. buggers!!!!

Hmmmm think I'll investigate this ? if they are at this address ? like the old saying goes ? Payback is a [***]  ;)

Called and when I answered, no one was there so I hung up. I called the number back and a recording said the number was no longer in service. I am on the do not call list. Why am I getting these calls?

The number will not stop calling its a fax number and it's driving me crazy

I answered this call and I couldnt make out where he said he was calling from (even after asking 3 times) I coiuld only make out computer and internet, he asked if my computer as running slowly, then told me my computer was running slowly. I hung up.

after saying hello several times finally someone on the other end said they are calling on behalf of BELL & SOLO I asked why and then they hang up.
They dont speak english very well

just got a call from that company saying he was from bell and was going to get a new cell phone at my door step.  could barely make out what he was saying. I told him where he could put the cell phone! and hung up.  Im on the do not call list but it exempts you from telemarketers from a company you have business with.  I think Bell should have it's own do not call list.

i dont get it im with cogeco phone service and i got a call from this number also and my number is unlisted im paying 2 dollars to have it unlisted where are these ppl getting my number from this just goes to show my number aint unlisted from everything like i was told it would be they are even calling my cellphone and thats with bell solo and this number has called my wifes cellphone and shes with rogers cellular why are these companies allowing this number to do this to us if we wanted a cellphone its not hard to just walk into telus or bell or rogers and get one and if my number is suppose to be unlisted like its suppose to be with cogeco how is it possible that this number has my unlisted number. NOW THIS NUMBER NEEDS TO LEAVE PPL LIKE US ALONE LIKE I SAID IF WE WANTED A CELLPHONE WITH ANY OF THESES COMPANIES IM SURE WED ALL WALK IN TO OUR LOCAL STORES AND GET ONE EITHER PREPAID OR MONTHLY WE DONT NEED A NUMBER TO GET IT FOR US .

Answered after getting several calls from this number. I figured it might be someone I know. Since to me is a local number.

The person on the other end began by asking me. "Is your computer a Windows or Apple computer?"

Just to humor him I said Microsoft Vista.

He said. "Thank you for confirming that information."  "I am calling on behalf of your internet provider."  "It seems your computer has many many viruses and spyware. Also your Windows registry is infected."

It was at this point that I informed him that in fact my computer Linux as an operating system.

He still continued. "Have you noticed, your computer runs slower than when it was new?"

I answered. "No In fact it runs just as quickly today, as it did when I installed Linux."

He replied. "You may not have noticed your computer slowing down but our records indicate your computer is 40% slower than when new." "Your problem is because your registry is infected, and your computer has viruses."

I replied. "Linux has no registry and is virtually virus free".

He tried to continue, before he could I wished him Merry Christmas and hung up.

The callers apparently only have a script for Windows and Apple users.

have been called three times today by this number...when i answer there is no one there..then the call goes dead. when i try to call back it says the # is out of service??/ i am on the do not call list so I have no idea why they would be calling ...anyone else in the niagara region getting the same calls?

I have been getting calls from this number all week. I answered because it was a local number to me
When they asked for me and pronounced my last name incorrectly I told them she wasn't home and could I take a message. They never said another word and hung up.

i just got a call from that same # at 2 am looking for availability for rooms for july 1st. and it was a guy that called. i have a b&b so i tought it was someone seriouse but i figures it wasnt because he started asking stupid questions.

I got a call from this number on Sunday, November 6th @ 10:45am.  The caller claimed to be from Microsoft.  I recently read an article that there is a scam from caller claiming to be Microsoft and saying that there is a virus on your computer and asking for remote access to your computer, etc.
I told the caller "[***]"  and hung-up.   He called back immediately and I told him that I had a call into the police right now.  He hung-up.

This number came up on my phone as a missed call.As I have been getting so many tetemarketing calls I looked it up & it brought me here.I got a call about 2 weeks ago from someone telling me they were calling from Microsoft.I got very angry & told them I was aware of the phone scam & that if they called me again I'd call the police & report them..I thought they were gone till today.They need to be tracked down & arrested. I live in the Niagara region & the number looked like a local one...now I know & next time they call I will be ready. :(

Got a call that claimed to be from Microsoft.  That's funny, I've never heard Microsoft directly calling residential numbers, at 8pm on Saturday.  Asked the guy what his name was, he said Daniel Fox.  He didn't sound like a Daniel Fox to me, unless Daniel was trying to fake a thick Indian accent.  When I asked for the number that he could be contacted at he gave the actual Microsoft Store number.  These fools actually bothered to look up the actual number.
Anyhow, this "Daniel Fox" was trying to say that my computer was sending them "error signals".  Obviously a scam so I asked the guy what IP address the errors were coming from.  The guy tries to change the subject.  Then I tell him I don't have any computers that run windows.  After a while I think I frustrated the guy so much he started saying inappropriate comments about my wife.  I told him she wasn't amused.  

So, complete SCAM.  I broke this guy down and he started trying to get personal but it backfired on him.
