There was a beep when I first picked up, but no one on other end, then call disconnects after ~10 seconds.

Indian sounding man wants to know about our food service purchasing.

Another scam. Online research says "survey".

Further research shows that it is Survey Research Incorporated. It's website looks real, but the reverse listing of the telephone number does not show their name. I will not participate in a telephone "survey" since there are so many scams.

Woman wanted to do survey. When asked what country she is calling from, she will only tell you the parent company (SSI) is in the U.S.. I refused the "survey". If they want to know what people are thinking in the U.S. about their services or purchases, then hire Americans (to do the surveys) who need jobs who will reinvest their money In the products and services they are asking us to give our options on!

Got call. Did not answer even though we have friends in that area code. If it is important a message should follow. No message. Looks like scam from other's comments on this site.

Called three times recently.
I answered it and it gave me a beep and then hung up.

Shows SSI on caller ID. No one answers. Calls coming in every day...Annoying!

call to cell phone -  almost daily - unknown company, obviously fraud; calls several times a week; they do not identify themselves; just using up cell minutes

annoying telemarketing call/unknown what they want since this is fraudulent call and they do not want to identify themselves or what they are really looking for

I called the number back to see if there was an option to have my number removed from their list and found out it's a research survey company called simple survey. I'm sorry I missed the call because I would have told them not to call again.

really sick of this number calling and our government that allows scammers and the phone and networking companies that help them

I keep receiving  calls from this  number as SSI all hours  don't  answer  very  annoying  needs to stop.

at lease caller ID says "SSI"  we don't answer.

This is my answering machine message.
"You have reached ***-***-**** I have not answered your call because I do not recognize your number or I am otherwise engaged. Leave a message at the tone and I'll return your call as soon as I become available. If you do not leave a message I will not return your call. Thankyou". This message has cut my spam to nearly nothing.
Give it a shot and don't answer any number you don't recognize. This also gives you evidence against scammers if you wish to pursue them legally.
