- annoyedi just payed my capital one bill yesterday. but they still keep calling. i don't answer.
- JUST ME| 6 repliesI called Capital One and they did not know if it was their number because they have 3rd party companies in the US that will call. I was suggested to call the 800 number on the back of the card for anything I needed. These people who identified themselves as Capital One did not answer upon the caller ID. They want all the things that Capital One never asks for, like your SS# and full telephone number. Be careful with these people.
- CR Smith| 1 replyThese people call me several times a day. They never leave a message. I have no idea who or what they are. I choose not to answer the phone when I do not recognize the caller ID number diplayed on my phone. If they are in fact a collection complay in the employment of Captital One then they have their wires crossed. I do not have a Capital One account.
- Just me 2 replies to JUST ME| 3 repliesI have been paying my credit card on time... I still get calls from this number and the voicemail is the same recording each time. "Hi this is Linda..." I'm so sick of it.
- yarnboy replies to Just me 2| 1 replyGot the Linda message too. Got it also from an Illinois number over the weekend.
- stratcat45| 1 replyWe get these calls from various numbers all day long EVERYDAY. If you call back on any of the numbers it claims it's Capital One, if you call back on the 800 number that "Linda" tells you to call it says it's Captial One. The first thing they want is your credit number punched in...I repeatedly hit the asterick until I got a live person. Refused to give credit # and ss#, she pulled me up by phone number and said my acct was in collections (totally untrue). When I tried to tell her that that was wrong, she got very nasty. After hanging up, I called the number on my card and got Rachel at Captial One who was very friendly. Told her the problem and she assured me that my account was fine and that I was wise not to give those numbers my information. Records indicated that no calls have been made by them to my house HOWEVER the 800 number left on the message IS a Capital One # - it's right on their website. Despite listing my account for no calls, they continue to come. Hubby called back on one, gets Capital One, talks to a live person who can't explain the phone calls but he actually got Capital One.
So if the call back number is them, how can the calls not be from them?- Caller: Captial One
- Bobo replies to stratcat45Sorry Bud...quit lying. Do you expect us to believe that a company like Cap One is going to be sued without getting their info correct? Pay your bills.
- Bobo replies to yarnboySo pay your bill...and "Linda" will quit calling. That's what I did...now I see the light and am on the "other" side.
Your still on the Dark side. Come to the Good side and you'll be a happier person. - Bobo replies to Just me 2Not true "Just Me 2". if you paid...they wouldn't call. Do you think they made their money off of going after people who pay their bills on time? doesn't add up that they'd [***] a good customer. I paid. They stopped calling.
- Lies, Bills and Websites replies to CR SmithYou do have an account. don't lie. This site is trying to o things right by correctly identifying who these people really are. the more you lie, the more you make this site confusing, illegitimate and ultimately unusable.

I paid. They stopped calling. Simple. Cut out a trip to Blockbuster and send them a check. It ain't rocket science junior. - Bobo replies to JUST ME| 1 replyYou do have an account. Just for the love of God-PAY YOUR DAMN BILL!
This IS Capital One. And they aren't going to waste time trying to go after people who dont reall have you number or if you dont owe money.
They aren't stupid.
They are a very rich credit card company and didn't make their money by going after GOOD paying customers or by chasing after incorrect telephone numbers.

I got one of those inexpensive pre-paid phones about six months ago, because I only use my cell phone for emergencies. I immediately started getting calls from numbers I did not recognize. Research has led me to believe that it is either a scam, or that the person who had my number before me owed a lot of people money. I do not answer my cell phone unless it is my BF or my niece.
Just this past week, I started getting these calls from Linda. I owe no one a nickel. I have never had a C1 account. This past spring, I paid off my car three years early. I owe my home free and clear. My credit score is in the high 700's. I have ZERO debt. I owe no one a dime. Besides, I am an easy person to reach at home or via mail. Why would they call me on a cell??? - Evil Genius| 1 replyPayback's a [***]:
I got tired of "Linda" calling all the time so I did a little research and found a Capital One phone number located in Richmond that's answered by a person. I believe it's a call center. ( 804-967-1000 )
Next I went to Capitol One's site, logged into my account and changed my cell phone contact number to 804-967-1000. Since the system they're using is automated, I added the same number to home, work and alternate. Now the automated system calls the call center using all 4 numbers. Given that when I was called they would sometimes call several times a day. I figure that call center is getting 8 calls + or - when the system fires up.
And that ladies and gents is how you Rick Roll Capital One and waste they're time and money. :-)- Caller: Capitol One

- PaulaI was behind 10 days but even after I paid my bill, they kept calling wanting to know when I was going to make another payment. It isn't even due yet. I changed my phone number on their web site to my cell phone and now they don't call my house anymore and I just turn my cell phone to vibrate.
