It would be interesting to see where we all had put our phone numbers (an internet site or something) to try to narrow down who got the information. Anyone want to contribute? I can only think of CareerBuilder.com

I have been getting the same phone calls for the last week but when they keep calling it comes up with different numbers. I agree with Bill and getting the phone records and going to the the police and see what they can do. When they called me last night i told them that when they call me on monday that i wanted to be taken off the list and i told them that i wanted to speak with a manager. This morning i got online to look up information and if you go to the Social Security Adminstration web page it says what to do if you are getting these phone calls and you can report them. So im going to do that and go to the police.

I get these calls probably 2-3 times daily. Keep saying they work for the government. they speak with an Arab accent. Keep telling them that i will have them arrested, then he said He just calls me now cuz he want to F__k me. Ive told them repeatedly to take me off their list and they keep calling. Im getting my phone records, and going to try to have the police contact them for harassment. I asked where they were from once and he told me they were from Maryland.

I got that call today, and i picked up for a second, and I think they were speaking chinese or something.

I got 2 calls from this number. I answered, he offered a cell phone deal, but in order to receive this, he would need my DOB and social. I told him he could send me this offer to my mailing address and that if it was something I was interested in then I would call him back. He said he could not do that until I gave him the information. Then, I asked for a supervisor who spoke better English than him. I got a different guy, same accent. He also insisted that he needed the infor also..I told him that I was in the middle of reporting him to Sprint(he said he was calling on their behalf) and the police. I hung up after that and so far I have yet to receive any more calls.

I have received several calls from this phone number for the past two days.  They call my cell phone and this number appears.  When I answer a man with a strong foreign accent asks for me by my first and last name.  When I tell him "this is she" he goes on to saying that he needs to confirm my personal information because I have been chosen to receive $500 in grant money from the Social Security Administration Department.  Give Me A Break!!!!!  No one gives away $$$$ for free.  I kept him on the line long enough to hear out the whole "scam", and when he asked me for my bank account to have the $$ deposited directly into my account I hung up on him.  He has called me a numerous amount of times, and I just ignore the call now.  I hope no one falls victim to these pathetic losers that don't have anything better to do.  If they want $$ so bad why don't they get a job like the rest of us???

He asked me how I was doing and I said fine. Then he asked for my name and I hung up. Its all just a huge scam to get account info.

To those of you who think these people are telemarketers or regulated by the Better Business Bureau, Wake up! These are international criminals swindling clueless Americans from there dollar, hard earned or otherwise. Most importantly, these people are not regulated by your local law enforcement agency. They are not even in the United States. Consider that once your dollar reaches foreign soil, there is a very likely chance you just paid for explosive ordnance used against innocent civilians and our own troops.

If you are able to record your conversations please do so. Report these phone calls to the FBI or CIA.

i've been getting a daily call for several weeks, i finally answered, same bs about the refund, i asked to be taken off the list and the calls kept coming.
When they called last Monday, under the guise of static i sent them a copy of all the little "things" kept in my Norton quarantine file. No new calls. Hmmmm!!!

I recieved a phone call yesterday from this number and he kept going on about how I won something, and I told him that I was on the national do not call registry, and he played dumb, when I asked to speak to a manager he said that his manager was busy with another girl, and how he wanted to f*** me and telling me about his privates and then started telling me about his bosses privates.  At that point I hung up the phone and called my husband, and the guy called back 2 other times, and left me a voicemail saying that he was going to keep calling me, and make me a woman, and then from there he said "I'll talk to you later sweetie".  I called my cell phone company, and they said that there was nothing they could do.  I then called the local police department (cause I was really freaked out) and they sent an officer to my house, and they said that there was nothing they could do.  So from there I called the local FBI (the one closest to where I lived) gave them my information and told them what happened, and they said they would have an agent get back to me, but also from there (being that I am military) I called NCIS to see if there was anything they could do.... I don't know who that guy was that called, but like I said, it really scared me.

I've received probably 3-4 phone calls per day from the past 5 days from this number.  Everytime I answer and say "Hello" the caller hangs up.

I've been getting these calls for about a month now. They say they are from some government agency and want to send me a refund check of 300.00 from the IRS. They just need my account info. So I hang up then they call right back with the same thing and I told they could keep it if they can't send it in the mail, but the scary thing about is they know my name and they don't speak good English at all, but someone needs to put a stop to this now. I get calls as early as 8am and as late as 9pm. They just won't stop calling. I've told them take me off their list. I've said I'm not interested, but they just won't give up.

Update to my post on 20Feb2008....

Contacted local NCIS, they said there was nothing they could do for me.  So, today I contacted the FBI office closest to me, and someone should be getting in touch with me soon.  But last night I recieved 2 more phone calls from the same number, I didn't answer it.  But I will post again when I find something out.

Recieved 2 phone calls yesterday and 2 today so far.  Yesterday I just started speaking some made up language and they hung up.  I missed the 2 calls today.

This # has called about 12 times over the last 3 weeks. I have answered 3 times. First two said S.S. up $500.00 a month. Today an unknown # called, same guy's voice but this time it was Tax refund of $500.00 dollars a month. Have told that I am not interested but they still call. Do not give out any info to these people. It is some one that sounds like Apou on the Simpsons'. This guy should be running a Quicky Mart, not working for the gov.
