I received a call on Fri and Sat. saying it was the treasury dept. with a legal matter to call right away, and ask for Robert at 21? no at 914-364-9546. When I called and asked for Robert he said he was busy and he worked with him and his name was Kevin.  Kevin said that they found an error on my 2010 taxes by two of their auditors. When I went to get my taxes and asked them where the error was, he told me to be quiet and  quit talking .When I asked again he gave me a hard time and said he would put a warrant out for my arrest, lien on my property and my bank account. I tried to talked to him again and he said put out a warrant for my arrest and hang up on me.

I received a series of similar calls and verified that they were cranks with my telephone carrier, Optimum. The service rep quickly put a block on this number plus a block on any "private caller" id numbers. It will undoubtedly not fix the problem  permanently, but it's a start.

Same thing just happened to me! Guy called me up and said he was from the Treasury Dept and said their was a legal matter. I hung up. He called back relentlessly so i blocked his number. Total scam !!!!

I received a phone call from this number from "Jacob Devyns" from the Department of Legal Affairs.  It was important that I or my attorney on retainer call because action was going to be taken against me.  Glad to see other people from the same number and the stories are similar but not the same, which leads me to believe that this is not legit.

I received a similar call, which I did not answer, but they left a phone message.  "Please call Mark Williams from the department of Legal Affairs" or legal action will be taken ......

I just googled that number, I had the same type of call, stating he is going to put me in jail and that I should get an attorney, I told the guy to send a letter, oh and he couldn't speak english  not sure what the motive is?  I might let my police department know as well.

I got a The guy called 3 times, I got mad at him, told him it was a scam and I was getting my lawyer involved if he bothered me again, he never called back.

received the same call......about a IRS .....and the guy told me that a warrant for my arrest is in place and the sheriff department will be knocking my door in the next 30 minutes....

Call traced to Brooklyn, NY Verizon # - I'm sending Verizon a notice - have the call recorded.
The illiterate message in broken English - appears to have broken federal interstate commerce laws.
Please send the to Verizon your complaints, but the real authorities is the local and federal.
I worry about these clowns stealing from the poor gullible, take action to help stop.
Unfortunately this is a minor nuisance, but will relay the info to the FBI - they love low hanging fruitcakes -
for good press.

Same as the others above they called, accidently picked up and hung up right away because I am at work, then called back right away and left a msg: "This is Mark Williams... Dept of Legal Affairs at US treasury about a very important msg..." then goes on to tell me to have my attorney contact them if I cannot. Glad to see others identify it at a scam. Very broken english and a lot of noise int he background. Concerned they called me by my maiden name but I have had this phone number for 10 years. Will have to contact Sprint to block them.

My husband had received call from this phone # every day last week. Today I answered phone. Whatever called hanged up with me. So I called back and said my phone # is in no call list and they have to know it's a federal crime to call this #.They hanged up again. But  I continued bugging them like they did. I was aggressive and angry and asked what do they want from us? Whatever answered said they want money! I said I want money too. So he hanged up again. But I called again. They turned answer mashing on.
So we are not alone. What can we do? I sent note to Verizon.

Received a call from this number stating it was Steve Miller with Dept. of Internal Affairs, mobile notification on an action started in your name.  I called this number and told them they had the wrong James Martin.  He asked for no information and stated he was sorry for calling.  Number came up as wireless number on Caller ID

I received a call from this number a few times now.  It is a guy with a foreign accent stating he is from the United States Treasury.  When you call back they will not pick up only ask that you leave a message.  IS this a scam?  And how do I get them to stop calling me.  

I received a phone call from 914-364-9546 at my parents house which I have not lived for over 20 years from "Jacob Devyns" from the Department of Legal Affairs as well same thing as T Lund above.

I received a VERY aggressive phone call from a guy with an Indian accent from the number (914) 364-9546. He said he was with the United States Treasury. I knew this was a scam from the start. I asked him where he was located...he struggled to say New York City. I asked him where in NYC...he said Varick street and then spelled it like a child. I hung up on him. He proceeded to call me back and say I would be arrested in 2 hours. I mean really? This could really disturb someone who is naive and vulnerable. Someone needs to catch this guy. Can't someone trace this call to the origin?

He should not be able to get away with this!

I just recieved a call from same people saying the same thing .

I find it hilarious that they clearly have thick Middle Eastern accents, speak Urdu as their primary language (I asked one of them on the call) and use clean-cut American names like Bob, Kevin, Robert and Stephen.  What a crock. I truly hope they do not steal money from unsuspecting, hard-working Americans.

This number is saying it's with legal affairs and I'm being prosiqutied
