It's Wells Fargo. If you owe a debt to them this is why their collection company is calling. They have outsourced all outstanding debts to a third part collection agency to call you and collect your outstanding debt with WF.

I changed my cellphone number and start receive numerous call from this number 9166347085. It is annoying since is machine and no one to tell to stop call my phone

Calls frm this #.  I do not have nothing to do with them. Calls comes from area code 916 (Sacramento, California)asking for my ex-husband. Message says: if you are not "such and such", just hung up.

It's highly unusual for the same number to be harassing people unless it's a scam.  On another board about this number, someone keeps posting messages advising people to just pay them, it's easy.  Grammar and spelling in those posts is dire, indicating that it might be a foreigner.  Often identity theft rings are run by foreign organized crime.  Contact your stat'e consumer protection bureau if your state has one.  My mother had a similar experience with a phone number from Maryland that called her daily.  Consumer Protection researched it, and found they were criminals fishing for info, and that the Maryland number was being faked so it wasn't really even their state.  

I doubt that they're Wells Fargo, as I've never, ever banked with Wells Fargo.  It's probably an identity theft ring, so be careful.  And never, EVER pay a collection agency.  Always pay the original company that the debt was owed to.  Otherwise, they're unlikely to credit your account as paid off.

I received a call tonight from 916-631-7085 and they left a voice mail with all my personal information, I called back and they refused to tell me what they were calling for verified the address I used to live at and 3 people refused to read me the mini marada which by federal law is mandatory, I know this because I am a debt collector and you don't have to verify the SSN as soon as you admit you are that person the mini maranda is to be said and then the hang up on me, they should know the law that in the state of California the statute of limitations is 2yrs so they should not even be calling me.

this # calls me constantly and they will not say a word. what kind of professionalism is this? In the big state of California, do they not do any training before sticking a BOZO on the line and having them call all over the country.  please make them go away. I DON'T OWE WELLS FARGO ANY MONEY, SO I DON'T KNOW WHO THIS IS.

These bozo's work for Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo has taken to looting their depositers money in dribs and drabs so they don't notice whats happening !! I just went to an ATM and withdrew all my money before they rode it down to zero !! They are probably sore about that and have taken to harassing me with third party deniability.  They forsook sound banking practices and now they are reduced down to looting and stealing to survive. Obama ought to [***] smack the cobwebs right outta their thieving heads  !! 'nuff said !

This number keeps calling and all it has is a automatic service.  I do not know who they are and what they want.  I prefer for them to stop calling me.  It has become very harrassing especially when they call more than once a day and especially when I am at work.  Too mind wrecking.

They call me, and they ask for my old roommate then I said my old roommate dont live with us and they want my phone number, i ask who this is and they hung up on us. Not even said who they are.. I did asked who.

this ph # calls every couple days I'm a business so there calling in the middle of the day no one says anything I don't owe anybody anything so why there calling me have no Idea wish I could get someone on the ph to tell them to stop it's driving me NUTS. It's very obvious there NOT professionals

I never answer any number I don't recognize.  I found that the number is Wells Fargo.  I've never had an account with Wells Fargo - not ever in my life.  I've never applied for a credit card, never tried to open a checking or savings account.  Why in the world would they be trying to contact me?

I've had Portfolio Recovery hounding me for years for a credit card that was paid in full over 15 years ago.  That account was never late and only open for 7 months!

What is with this country?  I've reported Portfolio Recovery to the FTC and still no relief.

Another scam, Do Not Pay them!

These guys are a debt collection service. I can't tell much about them but they're sure willing to fight their butts off to talk you into paying for whatever it is. They've called me as early as 7am and as late as midnight, which I know is illegal, but I can't get any info on them. I've had up to 7 calls in one day from the company RMS who had the same account before them, same thing. Hidden numbers, skip tracing, and I am not convinced the girl I'm talking to is different even though she says they're not the same company. She never would give me the name of the company.
To make this worse they're collecting on a bill that is in my opinion fraudulent in the first place, though the company and i have been fighting over this for over a year. Their dispute resolution team says "we don't care what was said to you, the bill is what you owe" Charming huh?

Its States Recovery. if you are getting calls from them its probably because you owe someone money, or who ever had your number before you (if you  havent had it long).
Or at least thats who it was when they called me...its legit. I really did owe money for school.
They are fairly nice (for a bill collector that is) and kinda work with you to make payments and not just threaten to sue you for the money.

They called my store asking for a former employee from 1 year ago.  I guess they owe money on something.
