Got a call from this number this morning.  They said they were movie producers calling to spread the word about a new movie coming to my area. Based on one of my favorite books as a child so I'm excited to see it and take my kids.  The Velveteen Rabbit.

A very polite call from movie producers about a new family movie they have coming to my local theater.  Must be a small studio to use this form of personal advertising, but I think it's great.  I'll be watching for the movie and plan to support them.

Yes it's a recording supposedly about a movie coming out, the Velveteen Rabbit. But it is a recording. I started talking over the guy and he didn't stop talking. They do want your email address and who knows what else. I am annoyed they got their hands on my cell number! Grrrr. I don't trust them. They didn't even state anywhere in the message who they were.

File a complaint against this company with the FCC. They can sue them and collect big fines.

DO NOT buy anything from them, see anything they make, etc.  Put these gutter rats out of business.  The best bet is to not answer a call when you do not recognize the number of it has an anonymous caller ID.  You can also get a phone whose ringer you can turn off and have everything go to voice mail.

If this is a movie promo then this is about the movie it purports to be about:

Received a cell phone call from this number. How did they come to have my cell phone number? This type of thing is what is going to drive Americans crazy. We have to constantly be on the alert for scams and fraud. Our privacy is constantly being challenged. Will this ever end? I seriously doubt it.

As soon as I answered the phone, they hung up.

I rec'd a call from this number. I called it back he stated that his name was John he was calling about a movie that was coming out in our area. I asked him how he got my cell number he would not tell me. I told him that he needed to take my name off his list and never call me back...... this is a disgrace that they would call an harrass people about a movie which hasn't came out yet.

This guy named John claiming to be a movie proudecer called my cell phone after 8:00 PM on 2/9/09 (waking me up in the process) saying he is not selling anything but wanted to talk with me for a few minutes about a movie.  I was partll sleepy and angry by this time and I told him that it is after 8PM.  He said that he will call later.  I hastly told him not to call back, and to remove me from his call list.  After looking thru these other postings, I'm convinced that this is a telemarker, and since my phone numbers are regested with the FCC/National Do Not Call List, I'll be filing a formal complaint.  If anybody else receives a call from this John/phone number, and you are regested with the National Do Not Call List (and for those who does not know/have the number it is 1-888-382-1222, and you need to call from whatever phone number you want to regestier), then call and file a complaint.

Got a call from this number today (2/10) around 11:19 am. I didnt pick up. Read comments above... The Velveteen Rabbit? didnt that come out around 1985?

Wow, I can't believe this is all over the place. I got a call about an hour ago from them.

they called me while i was in school. they didn't leave a message or anything i thought it was just a wrong number. but i thought I'd look it up anyways, and this is what i got. WEIRD.

I strongly suggest letting the company know that this form of advertising will not sit well with the public, and file a complaint with FCC. We need family films, good, but why are they bothering me at work when I am trying to make money to pay for the thing.

I was called less than 1/2 hour ago. I was about to pick up the phone because I thought it might be a relative that I haven't entered into my contact list. I'm glad that I checked this out first. What a scam, and I'm on the DNS list for that phone. This has cost everyone that has answered. FCC here come the complaints.

This 917-210-4609 number called my cell phone whom nobody has the number to but family. He began talking about a movie. I informed him I am a teacher at work with a class. He continued talking. I informed him again that I was at work. He said he would try again later. I really wish he wouldn't because I don't keep minutes on my phone for BS. I keep them for family emergencies.

Just got the call from John a few minutes ago.  I missed it and called him back, and got the same results. I asked to be placed on his do not call list and he kept talking over me.  It may not be a recording, but a sound board of sorts, with canned responses that play when someone listening presses a button.  I'm filing a formal complaint.

Misty - obviously you belong to this company, if you think getting anonymous solicitous phone calls is anything but stinking ridiculous.  I hope the FCC shuts this idiotic company down.

Never answered but got a call from 917-210-4609 on my cell.I am glad for this site. I never answer numbers I don't know.
