called 4/15 at 11:00 a,m. pacific time.   I never answer calls if I don't recognize the name of the caller.

Began getting calls about 2 weeks ago all times of the day but I've never answered. ID says American Lung.This morning they called at 8:23! Since it's a NY area code I sent an email to the NY chapter of the American Lung Association so that they can post some type of notice that they do not use harrassing phone calls to raise funds.

Got a call from this number with no answer when I picked up.

Call came from New York to Kansas at 13:59 hours on 11-22-09. Call not answered, and no message left. Call tracked to Global Crossing, the big advertising firm, and from there to American Lung Association.

This number is just one in a string of numbers for American Lung.

I had the same experience as everyone else with endless calls, no message or person on the other end.  I used the contact form on the American Lung Association national website:  http://www.lungusa.org/about-us/contact-us.html  to send an email and received a very polite response that they would remove me from their list. Hopefully that solved this problem. I read about others who called the number back and eventually get to an automated system that will take you off the list, but that's a well known red flag for scams and I would never EVER do it with a number that called so often and never left a message or had anyone on the other end.  American Lung Association is a worthy cause, but obviously they've contracted unscrupulous call centers.
