they  called.  I answered they did not speak

Ditto.  They called.  I have relatives in NY, so I answered.  They did not speak.

They called couple nights at 8:30pm.  No message left.

They actually just called again!
This time someone finally came on - American Lung Association, so they say!
I instructed them to put me on their do not call list.

THEY CALLED 12/17/08 AT 10:30.  Asked for my mother or wife then hung up.

This number is another one from the renowned Global Crossing Local Servcies, Inc. Other numbers are also listed in this database from them. One related to new subscribers of a newspaper... wanting payment info... warnigns of scams were there too... and a lot of pissed off people...

They call me every day about 3-4 times. No one ever comes on the line.

These people call my phone number almost every morning and afternoon to disturb me, as they take up room on the answering machine with the sound of nothing but a dial tone.  They never leave any voice message.  It really is constant harassment!

Called me and hung up on me again on 12-26-2008 at 9:30 a.m.

They call me 4 plus times a day! When I answer, they say "hello", then hang up.

I answered. No response, then disconnect. Caller ID says it was from 917-210-4615

This was an automated phone call mentioning Medicare Drug paperwork that we had not sent in.  When I tried to call the listed # it was an invalid #.

How do we stop these SOB's from calling? Can we collectively sue them?

I receive a call from this number several times per day. No message is ever left or if the phone is answered there is silence. This has been going on for several months.

They ask for me and hung up.

Every time I answer, the caller hangs up.  I finally got fed up and dialed *57 to report it as a harassing call.

They never speak, either when we answer or let the machine answer.  I know that the calls are actually coming from Portfolio Recovery Associates.  They have a website but wisely do not list a phone number for there principle officers.  If they did I would call them repeatedly.  "The Snakes" post has information to file complaints to the Feds.  File a complaint.

Wondering who owns the number.
