- HolmK| 4 repliesLeft a message on answering machine, was a digital recording and hard to understand but did get this information: contact Special Agent Daniel White, then some type of ID # then the phone number was repeated twice. UNKNOWN to me would like to know a Company Name or Location before calling back.
- JoeyDee replies to HolmKIt's probably a scam pretending to be from the IRS. Google: IRS Scam Calls.
There's a lot to read about it but just do NOT call the number and don't pick up if they call again. - Jessica| 1 replyI've received four calls from this number in the past week. The first part of the recording was cut off by my answering machine on the first couple of calls. But, on the third, I was home, so I heard the entire call on the speaker. It did say it was from the IRS...same deal about calling Special Agent Daniel White and included his supposed badge number and that I "shouldn't think about not returning his call", that I should call back before "allegations were brought against me" . The caller even had the chutzpah to sign off with "Have a Nice Day".
Glad I found this site that confirmed that this is a scam.
Thanks, folks!- Caller: IRS scam

- LeeI get a phone call stating that I need to contact the IRS and to ask for a Special Agent White. So I called. The next thing I know this guy that can't speak very clear English is informing me that I owe so much money for defrauding the IRS from 2008-2012. I was being recorded by 3 different agencies and that I will lose everything and so on. This guy kept telling me I owed and then told me that my husband screwed up our returns. That was a big mistake. I contacted my husband while having them on hold. Husband is super anal about taxes and said he does not mess up after confirming 4 times and said check the number. So I did while having the "IRS" on the phone and up came this site. Same Agent but another man named James Davis was going to handle my case. I ask where they were calling. Guy said Washington DC, I told him that 917 is not a DC area code. Then I asked him why he hasn't contacted my husband about this. They hung up on me.
- Caller: Phishing company
- smarter than themYes it's a scam. Worked for the government for years. The IRS may send you a letter with a signature confirmation attached but they will never call you. Also the letter would send you to the closest field location not Washington D.C.
- Caller: irs scam

I call the number back it was an INDIAN guy who answer the phone stating that he is a division of the IRS. I could hear other guys with INDIAN accent talking in the background. I let the guy know that I am aware that this is fraud and that the IRS does not outsource to India, the crook then disconnect the line.
