I received a call from (917) 398-9571 at approximately 7:10 PM August 16, 2011.  Caller ID displayed the number and the name, Gift Survey.  A recorded message with a pitch about a free vacation played for a few seconds before I hung up.  I looked up the number on another service only to find that it was a mobile device from New York City.

I've been getting calls from this and several other number - all same company. Family Movies. My husband answered a telephone survey about whether we thought movies without certain content removed.

Then we started getting solicitation "autobot" calls all day and night asking for Robby (my husband goes by Robert) and also for "the lovely lady of the household"....

I called them back and apparently it's a "book club of the month" type of thing, only movies twice or more a month. They give you the first one free as long as you give them your credit card number for shipping purposes, and then you have to send the all the movies back unopened (at your expense within a day or two) or your credit card gets billed.

Luckily, we did not accept the free movie offer and did not give out any personal information. I'm just not sure how they got our unlisted phone number that is on the national "Do Not Call" list. When I was finally able to reach a human being, I asked her very politely to please put us on their do not call list as the phone calls were disrupting my home office based business (which is true). She said she would take care of it immediately. We shall see.
