Said im being investagated need attorney info said didnt have one and they said ok stated telling me of a claim on me and when i asked how they hu

I  rcvd a call from this # & they said I owe $ for loans. When I called back they told me I have a warrant for my arrest. I could not understand them. He said I better run for my life because I was going to jail. This is a scam & I will be reporting them.

I have ben recieving phone calls from this number about a loan I borrowed but the loan was payed off and after it was payed off they continue taking money out of my account and said I had 150 penfing to mu name. It just didnt make sense. And the dude fid not speak english

I recieved a phone call at work from 917-639-5580. The lady was foreign and said her name was Suzanne Willimas. first of all a lady with that name wouldn't speak with this lady's accent. Secondly this is the second time people like this have tried this on me. For anyone going through this same issue this is what I did. I called the Federal Trade Commission and the Attorney General's Office at the request of the Federal Trade Commission. I reported it and they gave me a reference number. Also because I knew it was a scam I filed a police report so my work could block their number. This is a total scam and tell them that you know it is and they will quit calling.

I got a message from someone that called from 917-639-5580 about some state investigation.  I called back and they placed me on hold then the call was disconnected.....the person that left the message had a very heavy accent.  I couldn't understand the company name, just made out the it was a state investigation .....I knew the area code was NY, so I returned the call (have relatives in NY).

And $300 ALREADY CAME OUT OF MY ACCOUNT. I can't believe
People are taking advantage of others financial problems
What should I do?

I recieved a call on my cell first from 917-639-5580 with a message saying it was from an attorney's office and that was social security number was under investigation. And the message was left by a woman with a foreign accent - Indian. Then they called me at work and got me on the phone. From what I could decipher the lady I spoke with (who said she was a special investigator) said that my social security number was under investigation and she said my whole social number. Then she proceeded to rattle off my full name, address, date of birth, driver's license and place of work - and they were all correct. The lady told she was calling in behalf of Cash Advance American whom I had taken a $9000 pay day loan from - which I have never done. Only had 2 loans in my life! She told me if I didn't pay the loan they would issue an arrest warrant today, I would be in jail for 9 months and they were to take me to court for three charges - which I couldn't understand. I was very upset after this lady several times threatened me with an arrest warrant, jail time and fines - not to mention just in general being rude. I told her I would file a report - because I guessed this was a scam - and that she should be ashamed of herself. I am doing as Scott - a previous commenter - did and calling the Trade Commission, Attorney General's office and filing a police report.

Called me and threatened litigation, I laughed, but later thought I should report it.  I am a retired police officer, owe no debts and, can only imagine how the vunerable would be stressed, frightened, etc.  It was a very threatening call and in my career theats didn't scare me much, they just made me angry.

Man with an accent called and left a message of how they were going to sue me and so forth.

I called back and told them they are a fraud and a scam and to stop calling me!

They hung up!  

I am reporting them!

Today I received a call from 917.639.5580. And the man that called had a very heavy Indian accent and said that I was under investigation. A state investigation! I am so very scared! I was shaking! I called back and they never picked up the phone! Luckily I Googled the number before I went ahead and gave those bad words any $$! Horrible people out there! Makes you not want to ever answer the phone! I am going to get to the bottom of these idiots! They NEED to be stopped!

I started receving the same calls starting two days ago.  It had the same guy with an accent and the BS about social sec. and state investigation and attorneys, etc.  I immediately got suspicious since 3 of his calls were around 7 a.m. my time and I know that it is illegal for collection agents or telemarketers to call earlier than 8 or nine I think.  I think they somehow steal info from payday loan application sites.  As a result of cancer recurrence I had massive medical expenses which my insurance didn't cover and I was forced to take a couple out.  I have paid all off except one which I have contacted.  I also checked and none of the loan issuers were in NY which is where this number is located.  I am positive he will try calling again and I will not let him threaten me.  I will legitimately threaten him and their scam.  I am a Berkeley law school graduate and even I have gotten stressed from these calls which I don't need with my medical condition.  Unfortunately, I haven't taken the Bar exam yet due to cancer diagnosis, otherwise I would sue them myself.  If he doesn't call tomorrow, should I attempt to call the number and give them a piece of my mind or should I wait for them to call me again?  I have saved all their messages as evidence.  Any advice would be useful.  I am very grateful for finding this site and all your complaints.  Your testimonies have greately reduced my stressed which will reduce my need for Valium.  I have pain now and have to go take my medicine.  I think they should pass mandatory minimum sentencing laws for people like these scammers instead of casual drug users who get long prison sentences instead of getting treatment.  Our laws are sometimes upside down.  Thanks for reading my Rant.  Have a great day and/or evening.  Health, Peace and Love to all..BerkeleyLawGrad
