This is a scam.  Caller will pretend ot be calling about an IRS debt and try to get you to pay by credit or debit.  Hand up and report to FTC.

Brianna Scott claims she is from Dept of Legal Affairs and suggests that I have my attorney call back regarding a legal thing that is attached to my name.  She referred to only my first name. I smell a SCAM! My caller ID shows 917.652.8604 as a wireless number.

Thanks to all above comments for letting me know this is a b.s. call so I don't waste my breath on them. The first thing I did after receiving a message is Google the number to verify it since I had not received anything in the mail regarding anything of importance. The callers said they were with the Dept of Human Affairs. Received 2 messages within minutes of each other on my answering machine.

Thanks for the heads up. I googled the number cause I wanted to know who in new york wanted me arrested since I live in texas and have never been to new york. I think i'm going to call back and burn some bridges. hope the time I keep them talking in circles takes the heat off someone else... wish me luck

Starting this past Friday I started receiving these calls. A man with a heavy middle eastern accent claiming to be an agent with the Treasury Dept. left me a message asking me to return his call immediately, or to have my attorney do so on my behalf. He explained that it was regarding a judgment against me and that a warrant has been issued for my arrest. I returned the call, and asked for this person, but I was not passed on to him, rather talked to another person and had to listen to the exact same spiel as was left in the message. Verbatim. I was passed on to several different people as I asked questions, all with heavy accents claiming to be in different positions of authority. I talked with a Steve Jones, Eric Johnson, and Kevin Smith, and I forget if there were others. Curiously they all had thick accents. They said this was not a collection call, that it was too late to pay, but rather a plea for me to turn myself in before I am arrested. There were also claims that my bank accounts have been seized. When I asked them where I am supposed to turn myself in, they told me that they would be willing to work out a payment plan if I would give them a $4000 down payment, that they could accept no less. I knew it was a scam and told them to get lost. They then asked if I didn’t have $4000, how much could I put down? At one point in the conversation with one of them, they broke into profanities with me. The calls have resumed this morning, including two new voice messages for two different people, but the same exact spiel I received on Friday. Horrible, evil people out there. I have been advised to file a report with the FBI, which I will do next. I urge anyone who gets these calls do the same, so these despicable people can be taken down.

They ("Michelle Jones") claimed to be a U.S. Treasury Department calling about litigation being filed against my 89 year old mother for "back taxes."  Most definitely a hoax!!!  We are reporting this matter to the Indiana Attorney General.

This guy needs to be locked up!!!! I can't believe the audacity this jerk has to call and tell people that he will have a warrant in 2 hours to come pick them up! I'm a hard working single mother who hasn't done squat to hear him utter those horrifying words!!! I hope karma kicks him in the A$$!!!!

JAck Scott called saying That I owe U S Treasury 1500.00 in back taxes and I have a case against me in legal affairs and they are going to issue a warrant for my arrest if I don't contact Michelle Jones..

called me three times so far claiming to be  legal affairs dept. of the U.S. Treasury and to call them back reguarding a legal matter asap. Everyone I talked too tells me to disreguard as its a scam but with all the trouble of our own gov. spying on us I can't help worrying I hope and pray someone puts a stop to them soon.

This is who I spoke with when I called back but the original person that left a message I had no clue his name because I couldn't understand him do to his accent. I just laughed and hung up.

Ask the morons where to send the payment, and see how they respond.

My wife stated a man name Paul Saw from 917-652-8604 (middle east accent) asked me to return his call. He was from the US Deptartment Of Treasury. I googled the number an came across this website. He didn't answer the phone. I left a message not to call me anymore because I know of no such depth. Moreover I advised I would be reporting this number to the FTC..

Got the same call, I did not answer and they left a message.  Guy has a heavy accent and I could not make out all that he said, claimed he was from the Dept of Legal Affairs and his name is Christopher Lawrence.  He stated the same as above, that I needed to call back and / or have my attorney call back.  I can't make out what he said he was calling for  "something against my name".  I have no intention of returning this call.  It's a scammer and they need to be stopped.

Just got a call from this number asking for my husband.  I let it go to the answering machine.  Could not understand what this person was saying.  Did say something about legal action.  Came up as Brooklyn, NY on the Caller ID.  Still couldn't understand the person after I listened to the message.

This company called stating they had a legal matter to discuss with me and my husband. They gave me this number and told me to ask for Michelle Jones. This was the same number that called me from NY too. I called it and Jones answered the phone directly. She stated we did not pay our taxes and the Treasury/IRS department needs us to pay. The voice is from another country and the call is probably patched in under a USA number from another country.
Now, I file my taxes myself and go through the online H&R Block site. So, this is my hello bell which gets my blood boiling with 2+2=4 light bulb putting the clues together and I explode with ever profanity known to messing with a redneck possible and blocked the number.

Got the same call, was glad to see everyone's post! They said if we didn't call back due to our felony charge we may have to go in front of a magistrate! Since myself or my husband have not committed a crime and have paid our taxes, I figured this was all a hoax!

This person left a message stating we needed to call back and we needed to appear in front of a magistrate.
