- STLStoneJust got a call. I did not answer and they didn't leave a message.
- 56babsI just got one too, on my cell phone, also no message.
- Chopins11th| 2 repliesSaw the number on my Caller ID (cell phone) Called back "You've reached a non working number, etc" Used "Argali" search which will reverse search numbers via Dexknows, Infospace, Anywho, infoUSA (about 15-18 sources at the same time) and has a free version for several free searches per week or month, I forget. But NOTHING came up. Sorry, obvious telemarketing. For those of you who are already frustrated with the Federal Trade Commission's "National Do Not Call Directory or List" the word "National" is the key. These telemarketers are outside the scope of the law when dialing from overseas. Just know that while it's invasive and frustrating, they DO pay out money even if it's an autodialer and will scrub the list sooner or later so as to not waste more money on people like us who will NEVER purchase or accept telemarketing calls. For those of you who are frustrated over the seemingly lacking hand of the FTC for IN the USA calls, I think they are probably understaffed. What else could it be. I've filed dozens of compaints and even photo's of the caller ID from the same telemarketing firms and haven't ever had a response from the FTC letting me know it's been taken care of or that they've been put "on notice" etc. I think you would have to civily sue the company and bring in your evidence (photo's of the caller ID, the times, the copies (think PRINT SCREEN) when you file with the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY etc. and even then, you may end up spending some money first. Would it be worth it? I honestly don't know. I don't know that you would be embursed any compensation for harrassment as that law is ill defined despite the specific laws of telemarketing callers and times/places they can call, ie' fundraisers being exempt, political campaigns etc. Talk about collateral damages..... think about it, one would only need to use a political campaign or fundraising drive to get their REAL agenda pushed through by also selling you (or trying to sell you something) while asking you to vote for (Place name here). Hope this helps. They'll go away, but "PROPS" for this site putting up WHO they are IF we can find out because it DOES make one feel good that they are NOT ALONE in this TERRORISM (I call it that) of telemarketing. I have my own BANNED LIST. ANYONE THAT TELEMARKETS ME BY PHONE ESPECIALLY DURING INCONVENIENT TIMES (IN THE EVE AFTER DINNER) i MAKE A POINT NEVER TO PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THEM OR ANY SISTER COMPANY....ANY COMPANY RELATED OR PRODUCT RELATED TO THE ONE THEY ARE PUSHING ON ME. THAT IS THE KICK IN THE B**** YOU CAN GIVE FOR YOUR FRUSTRATIONS. SPREAD THE WORD AND DON'T BUY. FIND OUT WHO NOT ONLY "THEY" ARE BUT WHO THE PARENT COMPANY(S) OR ALL INVOLVED AND BOYCOTT THEM AS WELL. GOOD LUCK, LOL NOW THAT I'VE GOT MYSELF WORKED UP AGAIN, LOL.

- Chopins11th replies to Chopins11th| 1 replyAbout the book I just wrote: The idea....what about expanding on this site? By that I mean, once a company is identified (absolutely ID'd as the right company), have people post all involved. In other words you can go onto the Federal Trade Commission or the Corporation Commission and get the company's name, address, phone number(s), agent for service of process, other companies, DBA's etc. Why not (once we have a company nailed for who they are....POST THIS INFO?!) I WILL START with it.
1) The city and state the company is in usually has an online Secretary of State Website that will list all incorporated, LLC's LLP's INC's C corps, etc.
2) You can often obtain the copy of the articles of incorporation and corporte charter listing officers etc if it's a larger company or just the owner's name and also the AGENT FOR PROCESS OF SERVICE (meaning who handles the legal stuff should someone be suing etc)
3) Post it if you find it. Post it here on this site. Maybe (I'm not suggesting someone do this) it's NOT SO HARD to find the numbers of those listed on the corporate charter or as the owner and maybe it's NOT SO HARD to call and let them know how you feel (AT THE TIME THEY EAT DINNER MAYBE?) JUST saying that it occured to me this might not be a fun thing to have happen back at to you. I am NOT ENDORSING this behavior, merely sharing what crossed my mind that someone might do if they thought of it.......) - Chopins11th replies to Chopins11thLastly but only because of my conscience: I do know that some companies make a living by telemarketing and in this day and age and information highway it may make sense for them to call people to try to sell their product(s) as it may also be most cost effective. Some may legitimately have good intentions and great products. I do not wish to "harrass" a company or suggest anyone else does just to avenge their anger at a phone call they didn't solicite. There ARE legitimate comanies out there that do call to spread the news about something they may feel strongly about selling and that may be a good product. (my personal thoughts that this is the exception and certainly not the rule but I have to consider that there are the "good" ones out there thrown in with the wolves, so to speak). There are Major Metro Newspapers that used to telemarket neighborhoods to sell subscriptions to those who may have just moved into the neighborhood that would have cost them XXX? times the amount to reach by other means. I still stand my ground on illegal behavior and outrageous calling and calling by the same comapny that you've told NOT to call or informed that you are on the National Do Not Call List or Registry mandated by the Federal Trade Commission. My middle story gets a little viscous possibly, so please take it in context and lets do the right thing by thwarted those only who are breaking the laws as defined by our FTC and local governement. Cheers to a quite phone less those you love to hear from!
- clr99I just got a call from that 919 249 0338. Google "Mr. Number" to block these a$$ h*les.
- Cincinnati GalI just got a call from this 919-249-0338 a few minutes and they did not leave a message. This is the second call I received today that I had to look up on your website to confirm it was a scam call. I've taken these two numbers and set up a contact named SCAM - DO NOT ANSWER. My new policy is if the number is not already in my contact list as someone I know, I will not answer.

- Durham, NCI called the number (919.249.0338) and the digital voice recording said, "Press any number to be removed from this list. Removal will take 24 to 48 hours." Since I have severely reduced spam calls to my phone, I wanted to see if this added my number to a spam list (more than one spam call a month) or in fact, removed my number (even fewer spam calls than one a month). Sometimes, I like to see if the system works. WELL... five minutes later, they called back. "Knightsdale" was the ID name. "Is Xyzabc available?" (in a Phillipina accent). I asked, "Who, may I ask is calling?" and they hung up. So... it's spam all the way!
- Caller: Knightsdale?

- David, Chapel Hill, NCGot a call from that same #, 919-249-0338, last night while cell was in another room. No message left on voicemail, but wasn't sure it wasn't from a friend calling for the first time, since area code is the same as mine. Decided to google it and ended up here.
- Cary, NCCall from same # just 2 minutes ago. It was an automated phone call and must have started playing while the voicemail greeting was playing because it was in mid sentence when it started recording. All I got out of it was:
...will place a small sign in your yard we will install a new Security System at absolutely no cost to you whatsoever there is no cost for the system for the installation whatsoever to hear more press one now to be placed on our do not call list press nine.
