claimed to be with sms - when I asked for a website the web site had nothing to do with a sales and marketing company - when challenged, "dave" hung-up

They called me, left no message. When I called in they  answered as 'client services'.
Sounds shady.

it's bs.  Says ABS on id.  Calling to set appt with "Larry Harrer". It's a scam called IPA, International Profit Associates.  Do not fall for this lie. Google, IPA.  They are known to promise a bunch of sunshine, then force you into a contract, then rack up a bunch of hours doing not a a damn thing, then bully and strongarm businesses into failure.
If this guy calls you, tell him to [***] OFF.

Had someone come by the office today in Miami, Fl.  Mayelin Alvarez (I want to get her name out there so people begin to recognize what she represents).  I found it odd that she's the local rep but her business card shows a long distance phone number (224-676-7210), and no email address - very convenient so when they pressure you into singing you can't contact her to cancel what you signed .  I did some research and learned the bad news prior to doing any business with them.  They called prior to visiting and identified themselves as SMS.  She was very well trained and knowledgeable, and came off as very likeable.  Once she finished speaking to me she got on the phone to call her office, it was very mysterious as she spoke in a very low voice.  I spoke to her "Manager" she then prepared her document and wanted me to sign it.  I said I wouldn't until I spoke to my partners, and she didn't seem happy but maintained her demeanor.  From what I see and the odd feeling I got, then followed by my research I'd be very cautious

Called our business today 6/22/11, said they were a company out of Chapel Hill named SMS. Guy said he was trying to get his name out there. Tried to con us telling me "Am I tired of Obama taking my money". We hung up on him and he was persistent enough to call us right back after telling him we were not interested. I asked him did he speak English and did he understand what "Not Interested" means. We hung up on him again. After reading the above comments I see these guys are part of the IPA. Figures!!! We have ran them out of here on several occasions.

They stopped by my laundry mat yesterday to convince the owners about getting SMS - NA to review  our business model and gain new clients.  It seems odd that someone from Buffalo Grove Illinois would come all the way to Cleveland Ohio to review my business.  Polite person but seemed like he was confused about what their company really does.  We need no help getting clients (laundry mat remembe ).  

Told him not interested and walked out mad.

Mayelin Alvarez came to our office insisting that she had an appointment with the owner of our company at 1pm, she seemed nice, I'd asked her for her business card it read 1267 Barclay Blvd. Buffalo Grove, IL 60089 she's a "senior area manager" website sms-na.com phone 224-676-7210 fax 847-808-7519.
This female left and came back at 2:30 saying that she still had an appointment.
Now her office is calling the male over the phone was a little aggressive, but when I started asking question he started to sttu....sttu...studder.

Loosers they need to find a real job and a new business card layout if they are in marketing.

Definitely scam artists. The entire company lies as well. They call the business I work for several times a week when they have been told to stop calling at least 20 different times. Starting to consider it harassment. The "Senior Area Managers" even show up for "appointments" that no one scheduled. If you call the number listed on the business card, a women will answer but will not tell you where you are calling. When I asked her the name of the company multiple times  her response was "Well what business are you looking for" and "Do you know where your trying to call". She would not give me a company name. Some of the people that are harassing us are Jacob Hess, Gabrial Lions, Bill Dean, Mark Oleary, Luis Saez..... Its amazing I have spoke to this many people and have told all of the above we are not interested. Our company owner was kind enough to meet with a man who scheduled his own appointment just to let them know we are not going to do business with them. I'm sure my list will keep growing and so will the ammount of lies they tell us. I feel bad for anyone who doesn't have enough common sence to recognize that all this company wants to do is take money from hard working business owners.

Very nice looking young man came in today saying he's with a business that helps small businesses in the area, but didn't give very much more information.  I told him the owner isn't here and to give me his card... seeing that the business is located in IL and we're in AZ I thought it was a wee bit off, espcially since he's listed as the "Senior Area Manager".   So glad I did my research on this one before I told my cousin (the owner) about him stopping by.

I have had four calls in the last two weeks from people at SMS.  They used first names only.  They were tyring to set up an appointment for John Watson from Marion, Ohio, who is an "Area Manager".  Each time I told them that I was aware of the scam and to take me off the call list.  I expect that the calls will continue.

Had a "senior area manager" stop by today unannounced.  I have told them MANY times over the phone to stop calling, we're not interested in flushing our money down the toilet.

Really cheap business card stock, sketchy business card with no email and an out of state address and phone numbers.
