Does anyone know who this is? They didn't leave a message.

Just called and a lady with a middle eastern accent left a message saying they were calling from the "University of North Carolina research dept." and they were doing a survey about tobacco products and they are offering $40 to complete the survey. They have called about twice a day for two or three weeks, usually starts at 8:00 am and then again just before 9:00 pm. I just blocked them.

This is legit. It's a research center with UNC

Yes it is legit they will send you a check for answering a few questions for them on whatever topic they are calling about.

Why are you looking up a number if you had a good experience?  You would have no need to look up the number.  The pattern and dates of the posts in this thread sure suggests something is odd.  Payment by check for phone conversation is unusual; Product and market researchers generally hold meetings, no by phone.  I am skeptical of the calls and of the two positive posts that come out of no where.

To Future Readers:  Be careful about calls from this number. The number might be spoofed and this is a phishing scam.
