Phone rang twice and then hanged up

Been getting calls from Michigan, Winconson, and other distant lands.  We don't know anyone there.  (do we?).

Feels like a scam.

They get our answering machine and hang up. They have called twice in a week

Someone called me from this number and when I answered they asked for me by name, I said, "Speaking," and the woman said, "Never mind."

They called me at 10:44 a.m. California time.  I don't answer callers I don't recognize; they hung up without leaving a message.  I work at home at a high-stress job that requires complete focus and concentration and the interruptions are infuriating.  I blocked them.

Caller ID showed Green Bay, WI.  I let it ring, my machine picked up, all I heard was the busy signal!

Beware of this scam! Do not pay them any money. I paid $35 and recorded the conversation and now my attorney is taking care of the rest. It's sad these telemarketers? Innovative telesales? Tell you the money is for sick children suffering from cancer. So you give them $35 for toys for the children while they undergo treatment = leukemia. Google cancer leukemia scams. got the same call from Lukemia foundation from this no.  They know you by name.  They can be really rude or hang up when they know you have been trying to get rid of them or remind them they are calling a  NO CALL NO.  I have reported this crap to NO CALL so many times my fingers are tired of typing.  Too bad there is a "good guy" hacker that knows how to call THEM and destroy their phone or phone no's.  They should go to jail

I donated once to this Children's Leukemia Foundation and now get calls constantly.  I
researched this folundation and it uses paid professional solicitors......who are totally rude
and hang up on you if you refuse to donate.  So sad since these children are in need.
I have since blocked the number.

Received a call from this number.  Let answering machine pick up.  No message left by company that called.  Caller ID said "Green Bay, WI".

This number 920-471-4506 called again today Nov 7 at 11:30am and I answered them this time.  They have called me 6 times since Oct 30.  It is from Green Bay, WI.  This is a machine generated call from a telemarketing agency.  I had to shout out to the silence "who is this" a few times before a response.  This call was for Children with Cancer fund.  I have looked up the charity and it is one of those scam telemarketing companies that might give the charity 10 to 20 % of the funds raised and keep the rest.  They also go under the Childhood Leukemia Foundation.  Under the national charity listing they are a bad red alert charity.  They asked for my name and I told them it was not that person and they are no longer at that number.  Then they tried to get me to donate with their sales pitch.   Last year under a different number they called and sent an envalope to my house.  When I did not pick up the phone in the past, they hung up after 4 rings and left no message.  This is a group that will keep on calling.  Harrassment marketing.

Received a call at 11:43 A.M. Feb 7, 2014 for a donation for baskets for children ??? They are sending me out an envelope for mailing $15.00 to their cause.

Phone rang and machine picked it up.  They hung up.  

I phone this number and a recoding stated we will call you we don't care if your number is on the do not call list.

I never contribute to "professional fundraisers" because they rarely give more than 10% of collections to the charity and I wouldn't support this charity because of their conscious reliance on such an inefficient collection method.

This year the Foundation is delivering gift baskets to sick children that are in cancer treament centers and these baskets have some really great things like toys and games, there's pajamas and even a $75 gift card inside. What we're trying to do is help lift their spirits as they go through their cancer treetment. I'm with Innovative a professional fundraiser and we have not mailed out anything to you yet. We want to make sure we can count on your support for a tax deductible donation. Most are helping with our Gold sponsor at $35 and Silver sponsor at $25. Can the children count on you for one of those?

[me] Uh, this is for children with leukemia you say?
[they] Yep, yep and we're, we're raising money for the gift baskets that I mentioned and also in addition to that the Foundation provides human hair wigs for the children who lose their hair during chemotherapy treatments.  

[me] Uh, yes, I think I can contribute to that.
[they] Ok, would you like to do the Gold for $35? Or the Silver for $25?

[me] Uh, I'll, I'll go the Gold.

[Records dept] (she verifies my address, asks if there's any "apartment or post office"?)  Ok, um, you'll get it [pledge card] in about three days that's just when we ask you to send it back, ok?
