- Linda Glenshaw replies to SAMToo bad not everyone has Caller ID and an answering machine or service through their provider. It's real simple. If you don't know who is calling, DO NOT ANSWER. If it's really important, they'll leave a message. If you have the capability with your answering machine or phone system or through your provider, BLOCK THE CALL! The only thing that keeps these scam artists - or crooks or thieves - or literally these scum of the earth - going and in business is because there are lots of people who remain ignorant and answer their phones, even though they have no idea who's there and then, without question, give access to their computers. Unbelievable that with all the media attention to these scams, people continue to ignorantly aid the crooks. The DO NOT CALL LIST is a national joke. It simply doesn't work in any way, shape or form.
- PissedoffJust got call from this [***] stating he's getting a 'Windows ' signal from my computer.. Well, he's a fraud!
- ScottCaller identifies themselves as IT Solutions calling to fix a computer virus. I have marked this call type as UNKNOWN because there is no option for "phishing".
- Caller: IT Solutions
- Scott replies to WbrjDo not let them have access to your computer, unless you want spyware installed. They are phishing to gain access to computers for financial gain or as a means of spreading spam.
- JokesterGot the same call from 929-232-2804 - "your computer is infected with lots of virus's..." wanted me to type an address, enter my email on another address bar, ect... I played along for about 10 minutes, NEVER typed anything in. Told him where he wanted me to type my email address was greyed out and wouldn't let me type (stalling). He advised me to close my Safari and re-open a new window. I told him my Safari takes a REALLY long time to open (I sat there for about 30 seconds!) Then he redirected me to another web address. Then I said in a surprised voice - "Oh wait, I'm not even connected to the internet, how can my computer have viruses?" He hung up on me after wasting 10 minutes of his time! LOL I LOVE messing with scam callers!
- Caller: some scam computer virus company
- Call type: Prank
- FedUpI pick up the phone, then hang up. That's it. They get charged for the call.
- cjBroken English heavily Indian/Pakistani/Sri Lankan accented. Said he was from Intuit Services and my computer was sending out error messages for the past few days. I told him he was a criminal and he laughed.
