- DK| 2 repliesPerson at this number called my cell number, a number I've had about 4 years. They said the were from the alumni of the university I graduated from almost 20 years ago, wanting to verify my address. The address they had was where I lived with my former husband over 11 years ago. I'm so tired of getting calls like this. Everything about us is tied to everyone we have ever known! I found one site that lists my possible relatives as former inlaws AND current grown step-children.
- Caller: University of North Texas alumni assn
- RickCaller ID said North Texas University. I went there and have a daughter there so I answered. After 3 'hellos', they hung up.
- Shawn replies to DKThis number just called my phone, I googled the number and I think alot of people are having problems with the number calling all the time!
- MikeIt's the University of North Texas Alumni Association calling to "verify your address". Actually, they're calling to beg for a donation. These calls never stop. I don't answer any calls from 940 area code anymore.
- Caller: University of North Texas
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- toniI would like to report this number, they keep calling 9039205369.
- SomeoneThey just tried me as well --- so I'm guessing scammers.
- ACI have had this number calling my phone for over a week. Every time the number calls my phone usually in the evening, 6pm, 8:20pm, 9pm, I have missed it. I call back a couple times no one answers.
- Caller: not sure
- Ladythis number called me at 8:45 pm! I am an UNT alumni and they could have least left a message.
- Stef| 1 replyApparently it's from the UNT Alumni association but everyone is being too hard on them. They only work on each college for a few weeks and it's student jobs, I did this so if they call back I'll give them a little because it's actual people calling and not robots. I remember it being a really crappy job.
- mikemcI'm paying off a nice amount of loans from unt and other colleges. They want donations so kids can go for free.. 3 calls a week is frustrating. And hint I am paying loans off, I don't have money to waste on kids free rides. Would rather give to the poor than waste money on someone who will drop out in a semester
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- Sue Siegmund replies to DKI know! I graduated fro there also. They keep sending mail to me and the ex I would like to forget.
- StephanieThis number called me, while I napped. When I woke up, I called them back. No answer. Their voicemail message was something about a UNT (Denton) initiative.
It sounded like they wanted donations.
My number, I know, used to belong to a man who lived in Denton.- Caller: UNT initiative
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Gradumacated replies to StefExactly. I worked this job my first semester at UNT. If you take the time to answer the call, you can ask to be removed from the call list. It's not just verifying address, but where you work so the college(s) can improve their degree offerings, etc. Doesn't get away from the donation ask for scholarships and/or other programs that college is going through.
Oh, and as the numbers have been voluntarily given as part of your time at UNT, these calls don't violate the Do Not Call list unless you specifically request that they stop calling. - David| 5 repliesThe caller is affiliated with the University of North Texas. Coincidentally, that's where I graduated from almost ten years ago. I never answer it.
Like others, my donations go to Red Cross, Healthcare charities and veterans. Not to private over priced universities.- Caller: University of North Texas
- Angela willisStop calling me hanging up
- Caller: 9403697606
- Randal HunterUniversity of North Texas calling to solicit donations from Alumni. They recommend a $75 donation, lol. Maybe when I pay off my student loans 10 years from now.
- Caller: 940 369 7606
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- Cory replies to DavidYou went there and think it's a private university? Yeah, this is a state school, like most of the ones in Texas with the state's name in it..
- Rachel replies to David| 2 repliesJust FYI, UNT isn't private. It's a state school; they're trying to improve their degree programs and fund merit and need-based scholarships usually. You don't have to like them, but at least be informed.
- JackReacher replies to Rachel| 1 replyActually they are trying to fund their athletics programs which do nothing to further education but it does keep making them a lot of money which never gets funneled into anything but more athletics.
