I got the scam too from a guy claiming to be Paul Ruiz of C2CGG ( http://www.coasttocoastgrandgetaways.com/ ).  I didn't fall for it.  Feel sorry for all that did in the messages I've read so far online after I Googled a C2CGG review search.

I think they have access to Cheaptrips.com customers somehow; I think Cheaptrips is selling their customers info.  Cheaptrips.com must be hurting.  Their reservations # posted on their website is shutoff. Here's C2CGG's Facebook page ( http://www.facebook.com/coasttocoastgrandgeta ... getaway?sk=wall ).

They claim to have been in business since 1972 but the BBB has them recorded as having over 40 formal complaints in the last 12-months and being established in 2006.  See:  http://www.bbb.org/west-florida/business-revi ... ta-fl-90017298/

Got a call, with an 800 number left in the message: 800-594-9435. They knew my first and last name. I called back, some fellow asked me for my name, I gave it to him (they already had it) and I got a call from the 941-552-4074, guy named Paul Something... He is with Coast to Coast, they have purchased the old accounts from a CheapTickets dot com company where I "had" lifetime membership. I might have had a lifetime membership in one of those companies, that could have been over 10 years ago, never used then, never used it since.
Anyways, I have an equity built in my account, of $3000, I would be eligible for immediate $1500 bonus, AmEx $50 card, blah blah blah... Now, they have to properly dispose of my account, and to secure it, they need to update the credit card on file (he gave the last 4 digits of a card that died years ago). I suggested to use part of the equity and secure the account that way. No can do. I asked to mail things to me for me to review it, but he had to dispose of the account now. I said, that in over 10 years that account was OK, it sure could wait a few more days. But Paul HAD TO process the disposion of that account now.

So, I said:  CANCEL the account.

Hello? hello? Paul?... He was GONE!!!

    lol...

Got the same call from the same number (12/8) and talked to Paul Ruiz until I said that I needed to talk it over with my wife.  Wanted to "activate" my account (Lifetime Gold Membership) for $249 a year.  He eventually put on his "General Manager" to make sure I fully understood what a great deal this was and my wife surely would not object.  Told him I had their phone number and all the info and will call back if we decided to participate.   That was not acceptable so said good bye.

got a message on home phone about a week ago from Patrick Fowler, from Coast to Coast Grand Getaways said that Cheap Trips was having problems and not longer able to service they're accounts. That his company got the accounts and they were offering a wonderful deal so the 30,000
customers would get somethingThis is a short time offer.they are a membership travel club. the $3,500 amount that I had at Cheap trips was going to be lost but they would let me have a $5,000
lifetime membership. But yearly a fee for 1 year was 199.00 and 2 year 349.00 this would enable up to 10 people to use it, would bett 1,000.00 cash certificate, 50.00 applied, 2 free air tickets, plus more if I agreed to they offer. I could sell it after 2 years for the 5,000.00 or it could be passed on,willed, given, etc.  this is not just air travel trips but cruises, resorts, lots of stuff.....it is not a timeshare but they use timeshare places. They needed to update the credit card(which was not too old but not used anymore)they had the last four digits. I asked for a website to check out he ggave it to me and here I am. I said it was interesting and he was going to call me back or I could call since he had left two phone numbers on the message previously.........1800594-9435 x188 or 941 552-4074.             Now, I called Cheap Trips and explained this, asked if they were having problems, or what............they said all was ok and there were no problems.

SCAM artists. You'll get better deals working with a local travel agent or just searching on line. Their renewal fees are probably pure profit for them... nothing more. I kept getting calls about $3000 in equity from a past CHEAP TRIPS account... don't know WHY I thought it MIGHT be legit.

Talked to Paul and asked what "equity" meant. Told him "equity" is in my house not any account his company bought. Gave him every chance to answer honestly and just kept getting a high pressure sales pitch wondering why I was so "rude" to question anything. When I refused to update my expired credit card account on file with Cheap Trips, he would not give up. When I politely stated that it was clear that he was not going to take "no" for an answer and that I was going to hang up the phone... he just kept on... so I hung up the phone. He called back for about 10 minutes, over and over, so I called and asked to be put on a "do not call me list". I got transferred to another "sales" guy who just started the exact same pitch all over again.

When he asked if I wanted him to "purge" my account and lose all my equity... I said YES! That's when he hung up the phone on me. LOL. They are making a TON of money off elderly victims and the "too trusting". Don't be their next victim.

I got the same scam call twice with a message to call back that I had $3000 in equity from quicktrips. He said in the message that they took over quick trips but the equity was still there for me. The calls came once from 941-256-0456 and the 2nd from 941-914-9360 on april 18,2012. I am calling to report it.

I just got the same call today, in fact, this woman has called me now 3 times. I also have $3,000 "in equity" built up; she told me that Cheap Trips is now owned by another company, Coat to Coast Get Aways, and that this "is not a scam." I told her I wanted my name off their list, and hung up. So she called me back immediately and left another message on my machine—telling me that "this is not a scam." These people are leaches, they don't give up. I fell for their b.s. years ago, and must have sent them some money back then, which means that now I am a certified sucker. Their new number is 877 718 1400, ex. 1044.
