Call back from a Craigslist job ad, but the "job" they are offering is a scam. They lie and say it's a PR job, and then once you get to the interview, you find out it's a sales job. The kind of sales where you have to walk up to strangers and try and sell them modeling and acting classes. If you like doing that sort of thing, fine. But for a company to lie and list a job as public relations and marketing, when it's purely a sales job is really underhanded.

The Promotion Group is who called you. They had a post on Craigslist so if you called them regarding that, that's probably why they are calling you back. I used to work for them. They put on a family event every Sunday and only have so many invites, but a high volume of people who want to attend. So they pay you to hand out invitations to family's. The people who are telling you that this is a scam is clearly somebody who jumps to conclusions and didn't listen to what they were being told. When you hand out the invitation you can even reassure the people to not even bring a dime with them so that they know they are truly not spending any money. This event is for the sole purpose to see if children ages 6-17 have an interest in the performing arts industry. They get to come in and do a free practice commercial in front of a camera on stage with a special guest from the Disney Chanel. The Disney Chanel guest will help the child say "I had the best day ever at Disneyland!" They also get a goodie bag with a bunch of free stuff in it! If the child has fun and likes it, then he/she will get a call-back and be pointed in the right direction they want to pursue in the entertainment industry! Not once in this process do they spend a dime!

GopherGirl, handing out invites is not real PR (as they advertise the job is). It's going to malls, or into businesses and walking up to strangers, and giving them invitations. I worked there for a week. Obviously GopherGirl still works there and is trying to do damage control by posting here. And yes, you are expected to bring in a certain number of people to the events.

So basically after all the research ive done this place will use and girl their able to so RUNNNN!!!
