Got the prerecorded political message too.  At the end of the first message, the tape purported to say who paid for the ad and what their website was except the recording was carefully garbled and unintelligible except for the words "internet" and "www".  I waited about 20 or 30 seconds wondering if the message would repeat and replay the sponsor's name so that it was understandable.  Instead it then went on to play other messages that had previously been broadcast based on the time references in the message (eg. Bachmann declared her candidacy last Thursday in Waterloo, IA was clearly not that recent).  Different politicians were targeted in the different messages, but no attempt was made to indicate who paid for these calls.  Since Bachmann was praised in one and maligned in another, either the group behind these calls changed their support or they make messages for various candidates on pay to attack business model.  Curious to find out who's behind these calls.  Curious to find out who their backers are. While most of the messages concerned the Republican primary contenders, there was a message about whether Obama should change VP nominees in the next election.  This message seemed pro-Biden and against changing running mates to Obama/Cuomo. Since I did not receive the previous messages, I would guess that each message had different target phone numbers.  Coincidentally or not, I had commented on the Iowa Straw Poll on Facebook earlier today, and the call concerned the Straw Poll.

This pre-recorded political advertisement called me at my place of employment; a federal government phone number which is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry.  The message goes on and on about accomplishments of Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, and their husbands. The end of the recorded message said that it came from PoliticalAwareness.org.  I visited their website and could not access anysite information until I completed a survey of who I thought should be the next President of the USA, including my name, e-mail address, and ZIP code.  I could not find any information on the website dealing with specific points of contact.  It would seem that whomever operates the recording is either using an auto-dialer or is randomly dialing phone numbers.

Not the first time I've had this call before. For GovEmployee I did a Whois look up on the domain name, and this is what I got. Seeing as they registered at GoDaddy, someone should call them and complain that the website is doing some auto dialing and Tele-Spamming, as well as data collecting on the website. I doubt that the number listed is a valid number, unless they were stupid when they registered.

yep, same stuff, politicalawareness.org.  calling my office toll free line. 2nd time in a week.

BTW, you don't have to fill out the info at the beginning of the web site, just click submit with no info in the boxes, and it'll go past that stuff. I really would like to beat down whomever is responsible for this crap. If I actually would entertain the idea of voting for palin, this would change my mind...and I'm as conservative as they come.

dOften an automated call can be stopped by hitting the  * button continuously until you hear a dial tone.  I'm told that it "confuses" the computer used to make the robo=call.

I got that call also to my vm that charges me per minute, I am very mad at those [***] behind those website that wont even let you contact them.

Great domain info, Bryan. I keep getting these annoying voicemails from PoliticalAwareness.org. I know they are breaking the law because they aren't properly identifying themselves and they ignore the do not call lists. If they are harassing you too, file a complaint with the FCC. Here is the link: http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm. Don't let these jerks get away with it. Shut them down! Take the time to file a complaint online.

I work for firststreet in colonial heights, va who has multiple 800 #s for our different products. their calls cost us money and dropped calls from our paying customers.
