It is a scam to get your back account information

This number has shown up on my caller id repeatedly.  I never answer this phone, as it is a back-up number.  This time I answered it with the most irritated tone that I could muster ... which is considerable given the number of unknowns who call here... and the caller immediately hung up.  Success! I will continually, and enjoyably, answer ALL of these unknowns in this fashion in the future.  Try it... it makes the game THEY started fun! Ya i-jiots! (<Intentional derogatory spelling) There is a reason for the Do-Not-Call list... we don't want whatever it is you're trying to do!

One way that I just learned to deal with unwanted callers, when you are already on the DNC list, is to use a call trace.  Simply dial *57 immediately after the call.  You will be told "a trace was created" then you will be connected to the other party... they keep hanging up when my trace goes through. Imagine that!! What happens then is the report goes to law enforcement but not to the phone company.  Offenders can be fined and prosecuted.  Feels good to turn the tables back on them and just maybe if enough of us use this we can get some of these jerks to stop!
