Called, left message and said it was "imperative"... no thanks!

yes, this guy called me many time from 9497977100 and other number is 9497977104. i don't know what they talked about. this is a scam but in low technique level. don't pick up the phone.

I keep getting these calls that indicate it's imperative that I call back. They are looking for someone and my telephone # is associated with that person. When I do call they don't tell me the nature of why they are calling me and are very secretive.
Howa can I stop these calls?

I receive two phone calls at the same time from this number today with a harrassing message left.  They then called my daughter's house and left a harrassing message ther.

Several people I know received phone calls from 949-797-7105 & 949-797-7104 asking for someone by my name.  They were completely rude and harrassing over the phone stating that it was imporatant that they spoke with me but would not give any other information.  I called and spoke to Cody, only to find out that they had the wrong person afterall.  He told me that I had listed the people as a "point of reference" but couldnt tell me what it stemmed from. (I would never/have never use these aquaintenances as reference for anything.)  I explained that I logged his information (i.e. phone number, company name, and his name) and was going to turn it over the local police for harrassment. I also explained that they were not to call my aquaintenances as this issue had nothing to do with me.  He told me to kiss his butt & hung up on me.  The overall phone call with him he was raising his voice, calling me names, and insisting that I was the person they were looking for.  This is complete SCAM!!!  I have a feeling they are pressuring people into providing money over the phone by strong arming them.  DO NOT let them get to you.... tell them that you will get the police involved if it does not stop.

They called 4 times, and never would say who was calling when asked, Just insisting that I was somebody other than who I was. After the 4th call I googled this # and see others are being harrased as well.
I called the # back, and they stated they had taken me off their list. ... then silance ... so i hung up.

These people call my cell phone out of nowhere and said its impotance that I call back. I call back and some women aswer and said they where some kind of associate and ask me what I wanted . I said you call me and I am returning the call. I ask why are you calling my number? she said she was looking for john doo someone who was not me. I said I am not the person you are looking for and she ask my name. having nothing to hide I gave her my name and said for her to take my number off her list and not to call my number again and she responded ok. I have no bussiness with these people but from our conversation I detect that this were some kind of collection agent. but why are they calling people who have no business with them out of nowhere and theating them if they don't call back? something need to be done with these people. this is why I support the national comsumer protection agent that President Obama is trying to start and the Republicans are trying to stop. this kind of harrassment have to be unlawful. don't be taking in by these copybagger and don't call them back as I did. 949-797-7100. don't call back this number, they are a sms.

He left a message saying it was imperative that they get in touch with me today and had tried several attempts previously.  He said they were a collection agency looking for a certain person, but first he wanted to know the number he had left on the message to see who it was they were looking for.  I gave him the number because he said he had to have it to take me off their do not call list. Then he said he was looking for "Jake Mehoff."  I've heard that one before.  They want to get you to repeat it and it sounds like "jack me off."  I just said very funny, then he asked why it was funny.  I hung up on him.

These guys are [***] from Atlas Recovery.. they keep calling me because someone used my name as a referral to get credit. These guys are so stupid they won't stop calling.. I have no contact with the person they're attempting to contact. I'm seeing an attorney as I'm on a no call list and I've recorded 50 of their calls and asked them not to call me anymore.. And they told me they'll keep calling until I disconnect the number.. That won't happened but they will be sued for elderly abuse.

I called the Federal Trade Commision at 877-382-4357 and the BBB of Orange County at 909-825-7280 to report Atlas Recoveries collection calls. They are calling for a person I do not know and refuse to stop calling my home. WHEN YOU CALL TO REPORT THEM, GIVE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION.

You should also send a Cease Communication letter via registered mail to the address I provided. By law they must stop contacting you if you sent a cease communication. If they break the law, you will need proof that you sent the request; hence, the purpose for the registered letter. I am taking them to court.

Were you able to get the phone calls to stop?  Did you get the police involved?

This is a scam.  They told me they were a law firm but have no website or address.

Do NOT call them back.  They are jerks.

Thomas Porter and Steve DeAnglos are Debt collectors.  Offices are located at 3400 Irvine Ave. # 210, Newport Beach, CA  92660. One has repeatedly called and both have harassed me, for a debt that is not mine.  No civil or polite communication has worked..nor has arguing back with them.  They somehow got my name/address and connected it to an out of state relative-inlaw.  I suggest you report them to the Better Business Bureau (http://www.la.bbb.org/ComplaintInformation.aspx)...The FTC (888-382-1222).  They have a phone numberl to be placed on a do not call list).  Also Calif. has a penal code 653m penal code section 422-422.1 against harassing phone calls.  If this doesn't work my next step is a restraining order with the police depart.  Signed somethings rotten in Newport Beach.

Let me know if you do...they are doing the same thing to me and I've registered with both FTC and BBB.  I would love to see either Steve DeAnglos or Thomas Porter at Atlas recovery take some responsibility.

Very rude and harrasing asking for someone I do not know.  "He said identified yourself or I will keep calling and find out who you are".  I asked for his information so I could complain and he hanged up.  Has been calling my personal cell phone for the past month.  He refuses to stop calling.

I started receiving phone calls from phone number 949-797-7100 three days ago.  The person left me a rude message the first time.  Today, I received multiple phone calls to my cellphone and no messages were left.  I would like to find the way to block this number since I have limited time and text messages and I don't want to waste my time on unnecessaries phone calls.

You're an absolute moron for attempting to politicize this.  There is stupid, and then there's you.  Please tell me you haven't added your genes into the collective gene pool, because the human race is trying to move forward, not backwards.

i got a couple of messages on my house phone and for some odd reason decided to google the phone number.  I did call back after the first time and was able to leave a message on their answering machine during business hours.  i think they just tried calling my house back and left the 2nd message.  
they sounded rude and i really wanted to give them a piece of my mind along with a shoe up their @$$!

they need to get real jobs and stop harassing people.  This country doesn't need people like that.  Someone should find out where they are located physically and turn the heat up on them.  that will certainly teach them a lesson if not leave them with a sore @$$.

i did a very simple thing.  i just blocked the number along with the company names.  if i hear from them again at least i will tell them how i really feel and take them by surprise.
