Yup. Just got the call. Obviously a scam to get personal data and passwords from gullible people. Nice touch with the "call center" accent!

This left a nonworking number message so it does seem to be a prank

who the heck calls your home and talks about your computer???

Received call from this number about half an hour ago. Don't usually answer unknowns but did this time. Man with very thick Indian accent said he was from some company I could not quite make out and was calling about my computer. I am on the DNC list to screamed at him to get off my phone.

Asian voice asked me to go to computer stating that he was with Microsoft and I had too many programs on my computer.  I needed to go to my computer right away to delete programs and that my computer was sending Microsoft error messages!  I told him I was in the parking lot of my office and I was NOT going back in my office to sit at computer.  I was going home!  He says.."what time will you be home?  I will call you at home and you can sit at home computer.  DUH!!!  I told him I did NOT WANT TO TALK TO HIM!  GO AWAY!!  He thinks I am STUPID.  This man needs to be arrested!  His phone number was 949/898-7453 - Orange County Area.

Got the same call about two hours ago.  Heavy Indian accent, saying I needed to go to my computer as I had viruses.  I could not understand half of what he was saying.  I am also on the DNC registry.  There must be someone to whom the number can be reported.

Missed a call from 949-898-7453 and called the number back.  Man with a heavy Indian accent told me my computer was loaded with viruses.  I needed to go to my computer to do something.  I asked him who he was and what company he was with; he gave me the name David and said something I could not understand as to the name of the company.  He then inquired if I was at my computer yet.  I told him I did not understand what he was saying and that he was not to call my number again.  

This number needs to be reported; I believe it's probably a scam of some type.  I have read that Blue Tooth devices can be used to transmit or receive information. The article said to disconnect these devices when not in use.  Not sure I understand the "how" behind this statement, but if it is true, this could be problematic.

My grandpa got a call like that about 5minutes ago. He gave me the pone. He sounded Hispanic or asian, and had a heavy accent. I said that if he knew so much about my computer then he should tell me what kind of computer it is. he said it was a computer running a windows operating system. I said it wasn't. (it was an Apple os X lion, 32 bit operating system) He called me a blippin a liar, then somebody nearby decided to scare him off by saying, stay on just a sec, we almost have traced his phone number. he hung up immediately after.I got his number and have traced it to southern orange county, California. I also found out it was a cell phone. Here is his number. 949-898-7453

You can. Like john said, he comes from southern Orange County, California United States. You can talk to the police for 'suspicious behavior' among other things.

i got a call like this. you can report it to the government at  https://tips.fbi.gov/    his number is probably jacked wit the internet, but if no alterations were made, he should be from southern orange county, california, usa.

obviously a scam.

I didnt answer the phone i looked his number up first.thanks great information.
