got the call on my cell phone which is a private #, ask for me by my first and last name, I asked "who's calling pls" and they hung up.

There are many similar complaints about this number, online.  I also got a call - they asked my name then hung up before I told them!  I'm in Toronto Canada.  I wonder if this has been reported to local Police in Irine, CA - thats where the number apparently originates from, via MCI.

I didn't  answer it. Caller ID said it was from California

They have called me 5 times today. They never leave a message. I dont know who it is but it is very annoying.

can't call it back says contact carrier. thought the male on other end stated brown research irving CA  tried an alt # and got similar message. Can't something be done about this?!?!

Also getting calls on my cell. would like to know how to block!

This number has been calling me all week. I finally picked up and the caller asked if I would answer some survey questions. I asked him again who was calling and after mumbling something, said that he couldn't take me off the list unless I answered two questions and then they wouldn't call me "for like another year." I told him I don't respond to questioning from people I don't know - he insisted on asking me how often I watch television (what the survey is about, i guess) - before I cut him off and told him to remove my number from the list.

Sounded young - probably just some poor high school kid getting paid to aggressively telemarket.

Wish they'd leave me alone though.

Same issue as most of the earlier posts.  I have been reveiving 2-3 calls from this number for the past 3 days.  No messages are left.  If I answer, they hang up.  When I call back, it rings to another local number in this Florida area.  Probably should call the local police to report harrassing calls as some states have laws that address this type of activity.  Also may want to advise the phone carrier.

been receiving calls daily from this number-for the past few days....when I answer ...the caller hangs up.....So I just got another call from this number 3/21/12-4:05 pm.....the caller asked to speak to a named person....I asked who this was...the caller stated her name was Amanda..... I asked who she was representing....she stated...she was representing..." Herself".  I then told her to take this number off of the call list....She wished me a good evening....then hung up....

same happened today

calling me for the last couple of days (Apr 4,5) several times to cell phone.  Answered once and heard what sounds like laughter.  I live near Victoria BC Canada - what a waste of time they are!!

Called me 6 times from the number 949-930-2888 this morning. All left the same message "hello" with a yong female voice.

I received 3 calls from this number today in less than a 4 hour time slot. I do not answer any calls I cannot identify so I don't know why they bother. I am on Do Not Call list so I reported them and sent this link so they see all the complaints. Doing this has helped in the past, unless it was just coincidence, they stopped soon after.

Had three calls to my cell in the last 24 hours from this number. Tried to call it back after googling it and finding this site and get a "this is not a recognised phone number" message. My cell call log says Irvine, California.
Obviously some sort of phone-spam.

Another FINE EXAMPLE of the DO Not Call list at work . . . . why doesn't the Goverment just say its a JOKE and rename it the I WANT CALLS list?????

I received a call from this number on my cell.  No message.  I tried calling from the land line at my work and was told it was not a valid number.  Could it be associated with a computer line?
