this collection person called my home, a number that is not even ours, it belongs to my son, who has a differant name at 7:23 in the morning. this is illegal & we need to know what we can do? they continued to call me for the next 10 minutes non stop. how did they get a private number? I need some legal help or someone with knowledge of law

They called my cell phone number stating if I had an attorney because I had a pending case against me that I knew nothing about. Go figure...

this number called me saying i have a lawsuite against me and that i have to pay $746 by a hour or they are contacting the courthouse and getting me arrested. they wouldnt give me any information or nothing. so i called the loan people who i got a 300 dollar loan through and they said i only owe $325. and that it was a scam and to not give them any money. so i gave the loan ppl the number. THIS IS SO ILLEGAL FOR THEM TO DO THAT. will have them arrested Whatever it takes.

Received a call from someone identifying themselves as Eric Anderson.  Stated they were calling from a Law Office.  They were calling from some call center in India and he couldn't have spelled Eric Anderson if he had wanted to.  It was regarding a bill that had been discharged in a bankruptcy over 6 years ago, and had been sold over and over to different low life, scare tactic debt collectors.  This is not the first group that has tried this trick.  I actually had to file a lawsuit against the first group that tried it, so they just sold the debt down the line.  I imagine there is a small percentage of people who may actually believe they are legitimate and will send them money.  Don't do it!!  They are bottom feeding scum who circumvent valid US debt collection laws by setting these call centers up in foreign countries and routing calls through US phone numbers.  Just keep blocking their calls and don't let them get you upset.  None of them have any legal standing for anything they do.  My caller could barely get a few words out in broken English.

They just called me too and I told them i was recording the conversation for my attorney and they hung up.

this is a fraud number they told me they were a detective and wanted my ss# but couldn't tell me what the case was that this was for especially since i have no cases pending or ever have so be aware of #'s like these

they did it to me to said I had illegal wire transfers and when i began cussing them they hung up on me....  they called my employer as well and said they had a warranty for my arrest...  if they were smart theyd no i didnt even have a bank acciunt...

They called at my work for 2 days.  Left message to return call to Jimmy Anderson.  I returned the call from my cell and I could not understand what company they were with or anything the man said.  So when I asked him to repeat what he was saying he hung up.  I called back several times and they would not answer.  Later I called back and he answered.  What is said to me was simply not true and he told me not to ask him any questions until he said what he had to say.  When I asked him a question he told me not to interrupt and he told me to call back when I was ready to listen to him.  He was extremely rude and could not speak English well.  This is a scam.  Someone should do something about this number calling people

Very nasty people

these fools called me lastnight at 7 o'clock and told me that there was a lawsuite against me and they had my ss# what the f+++k how did they get that so he told me his name ws Den Marvin or some sh++ and that he worked for a firm but could give me the firm name.  Then he gave me a # to call and talk to someone of the sort of the case that is on me.  I tried to call about 8 times and didnt get a answer so i went and chilled out for a hour or two and then i said google would have what firm it is if i put in there #.  so i looked it up and i be damn everything i see is that if you got a call from this # its a scam.  but guess what this fool call me again 5 min. ago and i said yes i talked to my attorney and he said you are a scam and he couldnt say sh++ so i gave him so many words that wasnt good and i also told him it all on the internet about his azz.  ha ha ha lol!!!!

This just happened to me, calling from Law offices of Susan Young and said I owed them for a debt. The guy could not hardly speak English, I called the number back and someone jerk answered and said "are you done"

oh my gosh they just called me and did they same thing and so i turned the tables my son went on google right away and found these stories so i called acting all concerned which was hard and said i needed to settle this right away and its funny he gave me the exact same amounts as he did you and when i said my bank was looking for this deposit they could not find it he hung up i am so sick of these lazy people that have nothing to do but try to scam they need to get a life my husband and i work hard for our money i will do anything for these people to get caught.

It is a scam...I called the DA's office and there are no cases against me.  She said to file an incident report with local police and she also gave me a couple of numbers to the BAR Association and volunteer lawyers association to speak to about this and ask or guidance.  They stopped calling after I told them their calls were being monitored and traced and also mentioned about the DA, and that I loked up their numbers only to find out that they are a scam.  Do not give them any information...specially not your ss# because they will ask for it.  They also call from 6617696835 and 8174006871.  If I were you I would contact DA's office to see what other advice they can give you.

I told them the same thing only I went on to say that the loan was paid according to my bank.  The guy said that the payment was going to be reversed w/in 15 days that it was a computer glitch from his client and that good luck to 'cause I was going to jail for 6 months that the police would be arriving at my place of employment...crazy.  The first call mentioned $300 and then later calls increased it to $4000.  I bet they've scammed some people for them to be as persistent and threatening as they are....spread the word so that hopefully their scams go no further.

One guy said he was Mike Cooper, another name was something Miller.  Mid eastern accent with english names...could it be possible they're getting information from a helpdesk support service or even online activity

We've been getting calls like these for the last week, stating we received a loan and because they weren't receiving payments that we would be sued and that we need an attorney. After blocking the number, they called again today from a different number leaving a message stating the same thing. I called said "Hi, I'm getting phone calls about a loan I never received" and he put me on hold for 10 minutes before hanging up. I called right back and this time stated "Yes, I'm getting phone calls threatening to sue me for a loan that I never received." He mumbled something which I asked him to repeat. "We'll stop calling, ma'am" is what it ended up being. We'll see.

I JUST got a call from 1-951-489-0236 a very thick Indian accent saying he is "Ricky Anderson"  Abd that I had better retain an attory becuase they are going to areest me if I do not call back with in 1 hour.  Well being a debt collector myself this "Ricky Anderson" VOILATED SEVERAL FDCPA LAWS!  One of them is threats to a person being arrested.  All I can say to these people is BRING IT ON, and be PREPARED TO PAY I HAVE THE MESSAGE retained in my voice mail and I am READY and WILLING to seek prosecution.
