These people have called me 4 times in the last 24 hours.  I even got a note that was put in  my mailbox saying "Please Call, Important".  Are they a collection agency trying to collect something against us or are they trying to get us to hire them for a collection we have against someone else?

Yes! they are a collection agency!  They are sneaky and don't say why they are calling!  I yelled at them for that.

hello my name is chris i used to work for this comp. yes they are a collection agency they are collecting on a debt u owe they cant say why there calling until they get the person there looking for on the phone by law then need to make sure its the right person before they say anything.

[***] google your name and assume there calling the right person. Like 2 people can't have the same name. Now that I've proved them wrong they won't answer the phone, sounds like they don't like being harrsed either. I almost paid someone elses bill. The dumb [***] should really get their facts straight before they think they're right, especially "Patrick" and "Drew" in the "Legal" department.

I know it's tough out there for everyone right now and people are having a hard time paying their bills. Collections Agencies are held to extreemly strict guidelines about who they call and what information they can leave. If you can't simply identify yourself, they can't say anything to you. All these agencies want to do is ask you to pay for a debt that you owe. Making rediculus comments like "I almost paid someone elses bill" just make you look like an idiot. Why would you pay a bill that you know is not yours. Simply let them know that they are calling the wrong number and move on with life. Stop making debt collectors out to be terrible people. It's a tough job, and someone has to do it because there are dead beats out there that rack up credit with absolutley no intention of paying it back. Next time you want to bash a bill collector... look in the mirror and ask yourself if you deserve to give someone a hard time about a bill you didn't pay.
