They call you and say there is a problem with Windows on your computer and can you go to your computer and they'll help you fix it. I recognized the scam right away and asked them if I could call them back and he was surprised and stalled and left me on hold until I hung up (20 secs later). Very dangerous!

Phone rings early in the morning when you answer no one answers back.

No speaks when I pick up. I blow my dollar store horn into the phone. They hang up/

I call back. to hear a fake radio broadcast -  radio voice something or other FM - rock music and an announcer.

Apparently, lucking me, I'm "caller 15" 101something radio and won a cruise.

Cheering sounds.

They make it sound like you've just called in at the right moment and surprise, you won the prize. You just need to confirm a bunch of sh-t so they can rip you off. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

So, I play along but eventually they terminate the call.

Scam to fix your computer. Speaker with distinct Indian subcontinent accent.

I received two calls from this number today that did not leave a message, so I redialed the caller ID number.  Music plays with the message "101 FM Top 40 Radio, congratulations, you are caller 15 and have just won, blah blah blah cruise to blah blah blah.  All you have to do to claim your prize is confirm you are over 40. To confirm you are over 40, press 1 now."  If you don't press one, it hangs up on you and a message comes on saying the number is out of service.  I tried to call it back several times and then the "not in service" message came on after ringing repeatedly.  No legitimate business operates this way so it's not a real radio station, it's not a real prize, it's just a scamming telemarketer trying to sell something to older people.  I'm also on the do-not-call (re-new it every year) so I shouldn't have to put up with these calls anyway!

This number calls at least once a week, claiming to be Windows support. Once i pretended to do what he was asking. I know that he was trying to get into my computer. Once I told them I did not have a PC so how can I have a problem and click went the phone. Wish there was a way to block the calls!

Four calls today.  I don't answer them because I recognize the number now.  The only message they leave is "Goodbye."  It's creepy and annoying.

  Being on the "No Call" does not guarantee anything. These scammers aren't going to abide by that. They will do what ever it takes to try to rip you off. You also need to report all calls you receive so that they can investigate them. Trust me it does work. I reported a couple that kept calling me and they were prosecuted to the tune of $74,999.00 each. That being said, most of these types of calls are scammers who use spoofing to create either fake or copied phone numbers to call you. At present they do not have the technology to find these callers. They are getting closer though and soon hopefully they will be able to find them and prosecute them.
  Microsoft does not call people. They might send out an email, but that would only be to registered users and even that is unlikely. These scammers pray on people who may tend to be gullible or easily trusting.
