- PO'ed Defense AgencyIT Mgr for an (unquoted) US defense agency. Stupid girl calls to tell me one of my computers is not responding to updates!! I am an IT manger!! I have the updates!! Told her she called a government phone and not to share and not to call again. Doh!! Got another call an hour-half later!! Had to pull my JD on the supervisor for compliance!
- Call type: Telemarketer
- MDReceived a call from this number - some Indian sounding guy who said he was from windows and that my computer was trying to save a document to their server. My computer is in no way linked to my cell phone number so I knew he was full of it.
- kathy calandrinoThis number keeps calling even tho I am on a do not call list.
- Caller: US Cell
- pjThe caller ID said Vilore Foods. I answered and a man with a very heavy accent said he was from some home improvement company (I couldn't get the name, I could barely understand him). He said I had requested an estimate from them. I told him I hadn't requested any estimates, wasn't interested and hung up.
- Caller: Vilore Foods
- stpCall from a very slow talking woman with a heavy accent saying that she needed to talk to me about my computer. I wasn't doing anything at the moment, so I said "ok, what's up?". She said (painfully slowly) that my computer wasn't receiving Windows updates. I said "That's funny, I don't use Windows". She said "ok, thank you" and hung up on me! I wish they were all that easy to get rid of.
- MasonI got a call regarding "security updates for my Windows computer". I told him I do not have a computer (I actually do). He said ok and hung up.
- Caller: Not given
- KurtGotten 2 calls which both occurred one a Wednesday after 1:45 pm and they were both from heavily accented individuals. The first one I couldn't understand whatsoever so I just hung up. The second was a woman and said "your having an issue getting windows updates, is this correct?" I just said you must have the wrong number. I hope they call back! I use all Apple products so this must just be a company preying on older non tech savvy individuals who fall for this as an actual it service. Probably charge money to "help" fix your "problem".
- David JohnsonIndian Accent, claimed to be from Microsoft Genuine, in New Jersey. Area code lists to Texas. Said my computer has thousands of errors, when actually it performs flawlessly. SCAM.
- aamI found out from the better business burea that it's actually easy enough to purchase phone numbers and lines in America and be calling from an entirely different country. That's probably why they all have foreign accents. Most likely not even in America !!
- AmberScam.... They have been calling me for over a month now. Said they were from Microsoft and wanted to help fix the errors. Wanted me to download a program so they could remotely access my PC and "fix" my issues lol. I don't have any issues.... They even went as far as to ask if I do any banking online. They use a legit program and put keyloggers on your PC if you fall for it. I asked if they would call me back on my home line and gave them my local police department number instead. They didn't call back after that.
- dontcallmeSame story. Said there were problems with my computer. Told them not to call me again.
