They called asking for info on a Martin as he used us as a referance;

I've gotten a few calls from them and I'm pretty sure they're a last-resort collections agency.  Answer at your own discretion....

Yes... this is a last resort collection agency... interestingly though, I have already paid this debt to the collection agency that had it before them.  And I have proved it to this guy SEVERAL times.  He refuses to accept that I have proof and says that it proves nothing.  They are trying to double collect on a debt.  It's frustrating becuase I'm trying my hardest to get out of debt and pay off things I owe but agencies like this are making it harder.  They've also hit my credit report now!  I have alot of work to do to clean this up and he's just sitting there dialing my number twice a day waiting for me to throw in the towel for his Christmas bonus.

Don't let them harrass you, look their number up through 800 notes.com, google search for number,  or other web sites and get their address. Then send them a Cease and Desist letter (search the internet for samples) - they have to stop calling you - it's the law - you can sue them if they don't. Also tell them you will only deal with the Original Creditor and only pay the original creditor then they have no standing. You can have them erased from your credit report after you pay the original creditor by challenging the validity of it.
